Refused PM post...
by Jabali a on Nov 17, 2010 09:27 AM  | Hide replies

Here goes Sheela Bhat again supporting congress and saying how congress can save it face now.

What does she mean by
"All of India witnessed how Sonia refused to become the prime minister"

Just to remind rediff readers on what happened that day..
1) Sonia Gandhi gets elected as the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party. It is impossible that Sonia Gandhi was unaware that she will be next Prime Minister at this stage

2) Opposition parties in the NDA, especially BJP and its leaders oppose Sonia Gandhi’s election to the Prime Minister’s office.

3) Sonia Gandhi drives to the Presidential palace to meet Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam to stake claim to be the next Prime Minister of India and form the Congress Government.

4)Dr. Kalam raises legal issues and questions to her on she becoming prime minister
[All of us should thank Dr. Abdul Kalam for having the courage by citing a legal hitch to dissuade Sonia Gandhi from taking prime minister post]
5) Sonia Gandhi drives back to 10 Janpath. And immediately the sacrifice story is on air on all television channels

Absolutely rightly said the courage of Dr.Kalam to show her the legality since the same provision is not there in Italy if you marry an Italian. But our politicians mostly congress and left did not elect Dr.Kalam second time the most honest man in the Worlds history who come with only suit case after his tenure. If you deeply think the policy of congress you will hate gandhi like anything.

You are right. Look into the content. Not the Author. The big Q is if Shashi Tharoor can be shown the door for a relatively smaller irregularity why was Mr. Raja allowed to continue despite the fact that the spectrum scam surfaced much earlier. I think it would be an ideal time to cross the floor for the congress and shift their allegiance to AIADMK. After all shifting loyalties is nothing new for them. The AIADMK supremo will be happy with a couple of low key ministerial berths at the centre or none at all. And the ministers nominated by Ms. Jaylalitha will be under her control. The obvious strategy is the outcome of the assembl polls in TN after which the congress will mull over the decision as to whom to ally with in TN. But between the AIADMK and the DMK the former is certainly less demanding but the latter is more reliable.

First let the Govt "provide an opportunity" to be Raja in the same cell of "Satyam" Raju. Raju is a seasoned expert and he can give advise to Raja how to wriggle out !!

You need to understand that the finance ministers job is to provide budgets to the other ministries, while he gets nothing. Not sure if you are educated enough Mr. Desai, but grow up, read some books, chill out. We all can bark here, but the truth is that would anything change? And when did Lalu Prasad, *.* Gandhi, Chavan, Paswan, Mayawati become Southerners? You are speaking as if you are a sacred cow, guess you are a PIG (Sorry pig, dont feel bad). How many times did you bribe a policeman? How many times a postman? So dont tell people here that you are from a higher birth - you fool.

Not good enough our PM.
by prabirb on Nov 17, 2010 09:18 AM  | Hide replies

This 2G scam is another looting money like CWG.
CWG is quiet now . Telecom minister did it because he knew nothing serious will happen , enough money has been earned. And the responsibily of PM in this regard did not make any effect is clear. He is a weak leader. Now why so, because huge money has gone to Congress party fund. Let us see Supream court can do any justice or not . If such scam happens in Japan ,their PM resigns immediately so Japan is so prosperous. we have seen . But our leaders will not so easily leave the chair as they are power hungry and above national interest.

Do we need DMK Ministers at Centre at all ?
by Globalcrusador on Nov 17, 2010 09:16 AM  | Hide replies

The time has come to ask ourselves: Do we really need DMK Ministers at the Centre because most, barring a handful like Maran, have shown a deep propensity to misuse office and make a fast buck, more like the razor blade companies in Kerala. Eventually, it is the poor hapless PM who is left holding the pan. It is high time, the UPA looked beyond DMK support. It is so repulsive, to say the least.

U r right. DMK is the face of corruption. What about Congress and the evil PM who has let all this happen? The larger worry is, the large corporates who benefitted from the scam would buy Congress, BJP, communists and every other party to protect their loot. Can we stop it as citizens of India?
