Not carelessness of Govt. or civic body?
by Rajveer Singh Pawaiya on Nov 16, 2010 07:35 PM  | Hide replies

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit told media persons, "I think that the disaster happened because of the carelessness of the owner."
It is not carelessness of the Sheila Dixit or her Govt. or Civic Body, because they just pocketed the bribes from owner and gave him go ahead for this illegal construction. I bet there would be many more Adarsh in Delhi too. This is "Ghor Kaliyug"; all responsible authories are busy in looting money from wahtever side it comes from at the cost of the lives of the people, no traces of even humanity is left in those people forget about their integrity, conscientiousness and sense of duty and responsibility, they ought to do and have.

The whole system of govt is full of corruption.
People are ready to bribe for getting the job done.
Why blame particular party or particular person.

Corrupt system
by kasak on Nov 16, 2010 07:24 PM

Until corruption is deep rooted in Indian system, nothing can be done. 2 options for us.

1. Pray for the victims and demand for compensation

or 2. Fight against evil.

Bulls eye! Already the CM was rhetoric in quickly transfering the blame and seemed as though she did not have any responsiblity with regard to the illegal construction!

Cause : an illegal fifth floor was being constructed
by Zandu on Nov 16, 2010 07:15 PM  | Hide replies

In addition, an illegal fifth floor was being constructed in the building. The weakened foundation, which was made to support four floors, may not have been able to take the extra floor's weight," a senior police official involved in the case's investigation said.

----

Some of the State Govt are encouraging Builders to construct these illegal floors for some money it will get in Bulding Regularisation scheme.

AndhraPradesh govt policy is Pay money to Govt, make all illegal to legal.
Is Delhi also having this Schemes?

very sad to here this - Will the govt listen?
by honeybee on Nov 16, 2010 07:11 PM

We can blame any poltical party for this. The civic body is responsible for this. There are so many such buildings in chennai and bangalore. I think the condition will be same even in other metro cities. Who is going to take care of them? Chennai is prone to earth quake? Will the govt take any action atleast now for saving the poor bachelors who works like a dog for thier family?

who votes for the congress
by harish krishnamurthy on Nov 16, 2010 07:11 PM  | Hide replies

Who votes for the congress, the muslims and minorities. Ask yourself, is this right what the congress is doing? how many more scams are you people going to live through? Go to any slum or any backward area and the place is just the same under the congress rule. So, what are the minorities talking of feeling safe under congress. Right under our noses, Rs.1.76 lakh crores has been swindled. Who do you think is going to pay up this money into the government coffers through taxes. It is the majority community. We hindus should not feel ashamed to say we pay the maximum taxes are for all the wrong congress does to us and supports the minorities.

Why muslims and congress are coming into the picture??
It is the Delhi muncipality who give the permission, it is the Contractor who constructed that hell, The structural designer who designed like these type of buildings, and last but not least the building maintainer department.

To avoid this type of mishaps,

1.We should have a corrupt less Building control authority.

2. Full Control of Structural Engineers on the Contractors.

3.Should have a rule to have Periodical Inspection of Buildings by a qualified structural engineers.
