Punishment for criminal negliance
by Victor Johri on Nov 16, 2010 08:46 PM

Punishment for such types of criminal negliance is not enough. The Parliament is in session. Immediately a bill should be passed to double the quantum of punishment for criminal negligence. For persons belonging to Law enforcing agencies it should be three times.

Public memory is short
by David Coulthard on Nov 16, 2010 08:43 PM

Pure and simple.
All scams (it is a great thing to see scams appearing in public: in earlier days, the politicos were more shrewd :D ) appear and disappear with equal speed. The media puts them on the front page for a couple of days, week 2 = page 2, week 3 = page 4 (page 3 reserved for "celebrities ;) ), week 4 page 6 (page 5 = classifieds!) week 5 = page 7, week 6 = forgotten by one and all.
Visual media is even worse (sorry, I have stopped watching news channels quite a while ago and I have started opening the last page of printed matter, just like old days; again, sports has its own ignomity of late).

So brothers, my thoughts: Ignorance is Bliss!

Another one: If you can solve a problem, why worry? If you cannot solve a problem, why worry?

Indian corrupt judiciary is cause for all this
by Rajendra Gupta on Nov 16, 2010 08:13 PM  | Hide replies

Government of India and Indian judiciary are most corrupt organisations in the world. These shameless guys make mockery of law and justice and for vote banks. An owner of house had no right on his property. The tenants dont vacate the house.they dont even pay the rent.cases are dragged by corrupt and arrogant Indian judiciary shamelessly for years and years.result no one maintains the buildings. The owner simply does not have money to maintain it.tenants dont maintain it.IT is free for all.It is not only in delhi but in Mumbai situation is worse. This fellow MM DSI*ngh who claims to be honest and expert is only busy in ensuring how money is looted by corrupt politicians, traders and MNCs.He has done nothing in last 6 years for judicial reforms, ethics and removing corruption ,In fact after his becoming PM corrupt has gone up several fold.Shame on him! He should resign if has any self respect. What is the poisiotn and duties of a PM of a federal union? His only contribution is continuous price rise and corruption.

by Anand sodo on Nov 16, 2010 08:05 PM  | Hide replies

This incident was DUE it has Happened and such Incidents will continue to happen.
We are a 'CORRUPT' lot, all of us, We can never learn the benefits of "MERIT" we will always go in for "Personal Benefits" and are totally INCAPABLE of thinking about "SOCIAL BENEFITS" just forget "NATIONAL BENEFITS". Our History speaks volumes when our fiefdoms fought with each other giving "ACCES" to all types of intruders - that is all we are worth. and we WILL get what we DESERVE

Reprehensible
by Sujoy Chatterjee on Nov 16, 2010 07:42 PM

it is sheer negligence on the part of Delhi Municipal Corporation to allow such a dilapidated building being occupied by so many families. All said and done aftermath of the tragedy the response of the Delhi Government warrants condemnation. The families are living under open sky with no food and water but the Government has hardly taken any step to be a friend in their need. It is really a matter of shame for the MPs hailing from West Bengal. They have not bothered to visit the tragic site. They ought to have visited the site to put their pressure on the administration to provide relief to the affected families. The Police is behaving in a very high handed manner. The Police is not allowing the families to look at the dead bodies. The dead bodies are being whisked away by the police. There is every possibility that some of the dead bodies will be dumped some where else. So those persons who are dead but their dead bodies cannot be traced. In that case those persons will be reported as missing and the Government will not to have to pay any compensation. The MPs from WB ought to have looked into such matters so that the affected are not deprived from their rightful claim. But lo behold, they are MPs so they hardly have the time to care about such marginalized families. Shame on them.
