Endangered Indian
Hope this is the only one

With the unprecedented rainfalls this year in Delhi, weakening the foundation of these illegal "card castles", hope that there are no more such incidents happening. Such illegal constructions are a norm in every by lanes of even the relatively new and comparatively posh South Delhi area. Really hope that they stand their ground and no more innocent lives are lost.

Heart-rending scenes at Delhi bldg crash site.

Ownership rights to tenants is the only solution. One man owner (Landlord system) is the root cause of old dilapidated bldgs. All occupants should be joint owners of their bldgs. Only if tenants are owners, safe & secure will they repair their bldgs. But city land is goldmine for landlords/builders & Govt. Property prices are astronomical bec of them. Tenants have no choice but to live in dilapidated bldgs after knowing danger to their lives.

why these unauthorized buildings were regularized? Because in the first place it is not possible to get genuine permission to do ANYTHING, even minor repairs without paying bribes to local authorities.

Hence people go for unauthorized constructions and repairs because no one can live forever waiting for honest applications to move the speed of snails in the corridors of the babus.

Above tragedy is heart wrenching but will repeat again and again and again.....

NEW PARTY NEEDED FOR delhi without bania and gypsies whether CM resigns or not.

say NO TO BJP OR CONGRESS

DONT WORRY ABOUT BJP, THEY ARE fake opposition of Congress. just another loud mouth be it EVMs or bofors.

About the 64 death in delhi building collapse.

banias-gypsies here, RSS-BJP are in nexxus with congress

othewise, Sheila would be long gone. BJP is fake opposition.

There should be murder charges on owner of building, CM and MCD who were waiting for building to collapse.

DELHI NEEDS A NEW PARTY bereft of bania and gypsies who are known for their parasitic underhand alliances and bribing and sweet BS.

You should feel ashamed of for bringing your dirty politics and hatred of Sonia out during this human tragedy. If you can't help the victims keep quiet.

how many indians are responsible
by Prabhu on Nov 16, 2010 09:53 PM

although this incident points finger at the builder who may have violated the building norms either alone or colluding with officials how many indians follow the rules when they build their own homes. i personally have seen so many buildings owned by individuals built purposely for renting, flouting all established norms and rules with no safety regulations. and their plans have also been approved by officials. instead of blaming if we all start demanding and practicing the rules and norms all these can be avoided. but given the forcible conditions we indians tend to neglect all safety and security regulations and go for loweeeeeeeeest price most comfort etc.
