Shashi Tharoor's undoubted talents are being wasted. He should made a cabinet minister or at least a minister of state with independent charge. Only then can he really make a difference.
It is unfortunate that in India leaders like Tharoor, Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh, Jagmohan, Arun Jaitley, Manmohan Singh can never become mass leaders. They can hope to prime minister only if some one like Sonia or Rahul agrees to use them as remote controls.

When finally after long long spell of half-literate personalities at the helm, we have someone who has the qualification, erudition and world view that can at least hold a candle to the greats like Nehru, Patel, Tagore and Radhakrishnan. The jealousy part is of course always expected from the petty incumbents.
Thankfully there is another person of high esteem -- Dr Manmohan Singh -- who is currently at the top. I am hopeful -- both for Tharoor as well as for the country.
He should hear what people want instead of commenting he should utilize his influence knowledge and other skills for the benifit of people for country if he can debate he has the entire parliment to do so
just to become populare need not follow rakhi sawant

I totally and wholeheartedly agree with Mathew sir.One should unabashedly admit that both houses of Parliament's representatives from the north are populated by ignoramuses and people with a feudalistic and rustic mindset who would not think twice to push this country into the jurassic age.Hailing from Telangana part of Andhra Pradesh( in these times I must make a mention of my sub-regional origins)and having been educated in the best of schools in Hyderabad,it is quite saddening to see that even the ten odd Teluguish ( Telegu English)TV Channels are committing Himalayan Bulders while speaking the Queen's language.A TV Anchor in a pioneering Telugu News Channel,recently could not give out the correct expansion of the abbrieviatin/acronym.Expanding the initials DGCA( IN the context of Our erstwhile CM's death),the Anchor went on to say quite confidently,Director General of Civilization ! If you would ask the Anchor,where is Port Blair,they would exhibit ignorance and counter us by saying Port Blair is a person and is the younger brother of Britain's former PM Tony Blair ! Some of them do not know to describe a situation as a delicate situation and quite innocently say that it was a delicay situation ! May God give them enlightenment

Tharoor has written a book on Kashmir embroglio exoneratign Jawaharlal Nehru from the blame of ineefficiency and inaction during the 1947 Kashmir war with Pakistan and also the 1962 Indo china war. He got the reward by getting the ministrial berth.He is goos for nothing. Whayt good he is going to do to the common man when he himself calls the economy class of Air travel as cattle class? Then just forget about the pains of people travelling by bus,railway and those in the rural areas of India. People like Mr. Tharoor stay in Ivory towers,dine and wine in different international cities,write few books,give sermons on international brotherhood,peace and tranquility. These people are a shit nothign else.
