Kannadigas know how to deal with outsiders, there is no need for them to be dragged into this.

MASS MIGRATION and the disenfranchisement of locals
by howudoudo on Mar 06, 2010 02:04 PM  | Hide replies

Migration is fine, but MASS-MIGRATION is not. It is a form of aggression, especially so when these migrants do not assimilate, but maintain their identity to form a vote-bank and ultimately aim to usurp political power from locals. That's what is happening in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra has witnessed waves of migrants from different communities and states over the years, none of which have formed a distinct and separate political vote-bank as the UP/Biharis have done. Please note visible signs of these like the rise of Kripashankar Singh and Sanjay Nirupam as high-ranking Congress leaders who clearly represent and espouse the causes of UP/Bihari vote bank, recent attempts to separate Mumbai out of Maharashtra in the name of development and funds disbursement, moves to make Hindi as an official language in the Municipal Corporation, politicisation of Chatt puja, regular visits of UP/Bihari regional political leaders (Amar, Lalu, Maya) to address political rallies attended by lakhs in Maharashtra, negligible representation of locals in local jobs in an all-India resource like Indian Railways, political moves to repeatedly extend slum-rehabilitation deadlines to mainly benefit recent migrants (mostly UP/Biharis), contract labor system which directly source labor from UP/Bihar at below-minimum wages, etc. all to the detriment of the local population.

Unity in diversity is what India is. Further even in diversity individual states hv distinct identity.

Mass migration of UP/Bihar .... is destroying that concept.

That is not our idea of Indian Unity..... at the best it is HindiStan and not India.

Paki Fat-boy who cannot sing
by Chris on Mar 06, 2010 02:01 PM  | Hide replies

Adnan Sami is a Paki. He does not even bother to hide this shameful fact.

Why is Adnan Sami, a Paki, being allowed to work in Bollywood, to own property in Mumbai, etc. ?

Does he have the requisite legal permission to do such things ?

In a nation of 1.1 Billion prople, can we not find a suitable Indian fat-boy who cannot sing ?

Bhushan, beating for wrong reason is not in the blood of Mahrashtrians. Being a Maharashtrian, you should have ashames of yourself before putting such comments. Make all others who migrates to Maharashtra to respect our culture, our language. Be it in mind that beating is not the ultimate soultion to migrations. We can not impose our culture on others but what most we can do is to make them to respect for local language and cultures. I hope, being Maharashtrians (who thinks nation is soul and Maharashtra is breath) would agree to me.
