Indira Gandhi was the worst PM India ever had. Her biggest blunder was mishandling Punjab. First she encouraged Bhinderwale, then she executed Operation Bluestar and sidelined the entire Sikh community. Her assassination proved fatal for the innocent sikhs living outside Punjab. 10,000 innocent people were burnt alive in just 2 days. Its all the legacy of Mrs Gandhi.
On paper we have democracy but in our actual life we dont enjoy domocracy, I will say we should go one more time under emergency with better ideas, in those days every thing was functioning right for normal people but those who were corrupted suffered a lot and unfortunately most of us even today are corrupt people so we complain about the emergency which is a sad part, the truth most of us are corrupt but still we complain about corruption.

The present leaders of congi again under the leadership of one more mrs.gandi deliberately did not allow the late PM PV N Rao to be cremated in Delhi or to have his Ghat as he ,according to them involved in political manipulations which saw their party thru 5 yr term and also because the masid in Ayodhya was raged to the ground during his tenure..Well, compare this to the atrocities committed by Indira gandi during the Darkest period in the country's history,.that is EMERGENCY..when 100s of innocent people were killed and 1000s of political leaders were jailed and made to suffer for months without trials., and still she is regarded as great leader and every other airport and all Govt scemes are named after her..wheras PVN Rao who saved the country from virtual economic disaster in 1990 has no memorial in Delhi or in his own state AP..very pathetic..but leader of dark Emergency is hailed even today as a great leader..what a pity my Bharath..kya ho raha hai?

Some other country would have had a trail on her and put her behind bars just for this grave/inexcusable mistake. Remember this went on for almost 2 years.
people like you just are like dogs, you people want to run behind every car you see, and bark but when the car stops you just run away, wrting this article may be easy for you, but have you understood the need of the act implimented on our country at that time, where were you when or how old were you MR, or you were 1 of the victims of that time as a child, ha ha i just feel like laughing at you, i am not going in depth details about your nonsense you have writtenbut only would request all the readers that know the history yourself before you read such stupid comments from writers like these
Whatever wrongs were done during the Emergency, neither Congress party, nor Indira Gandhi ever apologised for them, and yet, Congress was back in power barely 2 1/2 years after it was thrown out in 1977. This one fact is sufficient to prove that Emergency ceased to be an issue for Indians, as early as 1980. Now, some old and useless politicians are trying to rake up issues dead and buried, hoping to garner some sympathy for them. They wouln't get it. Anti-Congressism is dead.
