Mr. Malhotra, spineless intelligentsia, people like you who are habitual of living in their comfort zones, would never have the guts what she did in 1975. I just wish we had someone like her today to declare a war on Indian governance and discipline the unruly, mannerless, arrogant indians. My head goes down in shame when I see other much smaller and younger countries are progressing and offering a far better quality of life to its citizens.
Look at yourself in the mirror and try finding out if you made any significant contribution towards society other than wasting ink and paper in your entire life.

exactly ... corruption and black marketing of scarce commodities by so called upper caste ban1as ... the core of BJP voters

you are absolutely right. Emergency brought discipline to the governance and government offices worked overtime to dispose of pending cases and claims.
Public transportation was at its best.
If you look at today's government, it has no sense or direction.

ROOT OF CORRUPTION IN GOVT IS the fact that the highest ranking government officer, the cabinet secretary, is appointed by his own junior who follows politicians orders. And hence politicians control all the lower chain.

Ministers including the PM and those in cabinet have no power to sign orders. Only President and officers in govt have it.
The headlines mentions that most of the Indians were not born. Does it mean most of Indians are 35 years and younger? What % of India's population consists of people 35 and younger?

Congress is ruining India now. But, during the emergency period, govt offices and other departments were functioning properly. No corruption (i think so)I would prefer once again an emergency, with Modi becoming the president.

Am not denying it. I mentioned during that period, govt offices and other govt department were functioning properly. I would prefer once again an emergency to follow with Modi as head of the nation. Indira was selfish and put this emergency to defend her then stand that time.

All these Dictators were cruel and cared little for their people. The objective of all these Dictators was to stay in power at any cost. Thats why Indiraji imposed emergency.

rajiv was democratically elected in 1984 in an election that gave him the biggest support ever to any party

Rajiv was elected out of mere sympathy. He was also corrupt. Remember KGB deposited 2 million USD in his bank account in Swiss bank... but public memory is very short..
