The Pic is of a B1-B Lancer those are cluster bombs the smaller bombs are encased in the Bigger bombs that can be seen on the pic. When a bunch of these bigger bombs are released from the plane a panel opens up to release the smaller bombs. either they open in mid air or once on the ground that is how the carpet effect is achieved - Info available on the net.
Just for the benefit of the commentators. Shun actually means to avoid. India has not signed the treaty so please don't blame it for signing the treaty.
G7 countries has already a technology of how to make a cluster bombs, they are capable of making bombs in a matter of 4 or 5 days, if we sign this treaty, if something happens what next ?

it is ant-human.agreed. but as long as countries like China are not banning it, we should not ban it too. you know how chinese treat human rights.. whey should we give them the cluster bomb advantage in case of a conflict with the dragon...

Now here lies the problem, you still think that the next wars will be fought by these weapons. These weapons can only be used to kill weak civilians. God forbid if India and China go to war then the war wont last for more than three days. Conventional weapons have little or no use in nuclear age.

Maybe, I am not a big fan of wahabism and would like the see the back of it. But I dont think USA will ever back India. It has its own interests and it will follow them.

so as India has it's own interest and it revolves arround Live & Let Live but has been misunderstood by Shaks, Huns, Kushans, Turks, Mongols, Arabs, English, Chinese, SIddis, Porugese, French, Deutsch and list is end-less all mentioned above targeted then Indian peninsula. Till the time world shall understand Hindu ie sanatan dharma's thinking, I am afraid it will be too late for whole world to loose such a great way of like and not confined to any religion. Out of seven civilisation only Indian & Chinese are surviving but Indian civilisation is contribution of good & bad of all local and foreign people that werer came to India and could destroy it's main DNA ie democracy which was thriving since 5000 years in some form or other and allowing us even today to fight in this forum! The day this country becomes Muslim, fundamental question is, what is nenifit to world society? Unlike India who has all along enlighten the world with her heritage & glory till now, has all chance to turning into battleground for clash of civilasion and net result shall be same as present day afghanistan,pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Tibet, Malaysia, Burma, Kambodia... all were once Hindu and at that time were so rich and attracted whole world in their glorious past. Let people decide what is better for them and future generations.

Hindu is not anybodys birh right it is way of life and more important in todays time which demands go back to nature. World shall cross population of 7 Billion next month and it will going to be difficult to whichever religion that will prevails after in-fighting to feed such large number on sustainable basis. Sanatan Dharma is having formula to be Eco-Friendly. Not only Hindus but whole world's flora (ie all living beings) & fauna (ie plants, crops all) apealing to entire human race to follow Hinduism principles in life for Mother Nature's sake, or she is great leveler and with one big blow of eco-system collpse which lookes inevitable within next 50 years, human race will see never before heard draught, epidemics and bankrupsy in terms of culture when Human will start eating humans !
This stupid nation signs everywhere without having any back up evenhough is ringed by Hostile neighbors like China ,Jihaadistan, Bangladesh for popularity . Nehru's non alignment panchsheel etc was also part of that dreamer with out any foresight.Tibet Arunachal J&K are all problems related to that thinking!
