santhiya accident
by hariom kushwaha on Nov 22, 2010 01:28 AM

it is a wrong perception that due to signal failure this accident happened.railway signalling is designed in such a way that it fails on safe side. i feel in this case driver has mistaken the red signal and crossed it at full speed dashing the train which was already standing at the satation.

Strange guys!
by Shyam Sunder on Jul 26, 2010 09:32 AM  | Hide replies

This media is strange guys! Sometime back they were praising the same Railways for bringing in a turnaround. They praised Laloo for that. They they said the dedicated workforce. Then they praised Didi for a year for running withing rising the charges. Suddenly one fine morning they wanted to get rid of her and so they started writing against railways.

Accidents have been happening from 1947 in railways. So far only one minister has accepted moral responsibility for it and that was for Ariyalur accident when Krishna Menon resigned. That is pre-1960 I believe. After that there has been no morals no responsibilities and no resignations.

What is that the rediff wants now, didi to resign or the entire railways to be closed down or some mediator to stop infightings in the railways?

Infightings are common in every department and so only our country is in this form. We need to change the entire government machinery and for that the selection method of UPSC needs a change. They are selecting corrupt fellows and turning the country to a corrupt nation.

"Ariyalur accident when Krishna Menon resigned. "

hahaha... writing with emotion.. not with facts?

Krishna Menon was a High End THUG - who was never a railway minister - but yes destroyed india's foreign policy and defense capabilities for sure.

LAL BAHADUR SHASRI (union rlwy min) is your man.

This cretinous Commie Menon was the scumbag who single-handedly and personally handed over poor Tibet to his murdering Mandarin masters- Mao and Chou, whose Red Army butchered millions of defenseless Tibetan civilians and clergy. He was the main point-man for the idiot Nehru, the biggest scumbag this poor land ever produced.

Give Proper Representation to all States in Railways
by anupam kumar on Jul 25, 2010 05:15 PM  | Hide replies

At present all job's in railways are monopolized by hindi speaking people's.
as matter of fact railways does not recruit marathi and gujarathi speaking people.
in fact nepotism and partiality is reason for many problems in railways

Departmentalism and Monopoly have ruined Railways.

Many serious lacunae in Railway Working remain hidden due to monopoly of Indian Railways in its mode of transport. Roadways are not the competiter as Railway is entirely a different mode of transport. Central govt has never thought seriously of facilitating private Business houses like Ambanies , Tatas and like to enter into this field. Now entirely new lines are being laid under Dedicated Freight Corridors from North to Mumbai and to West Bengal, but again under Railawys' monopolistic hold. These projects should be given to Private businesses to encourage competition and efficiency in Railway Sector.

Raliway is public sector company, don't turn it into a devil. U can't denay the fact that what railway offers comes at very low price. Privation will add nothing other than hikes, allready the common man is under burden, it will just add to it.

corruption

go deep into the structure of railways you would only find corruption and nothing else. so what you would expect a corrupt system to give as its outcome, delivery would be the same and it would continue as usual since long back. every aspect of our life is affected by this crime of corruption be it price rise, politics etc really intererested in doing something for india then dont encourage corruption at any level

Railways does encourage sincerity
by Indian Viewpoint on Jul 24, 2010 09:33 PM  | Hide replies

Railways does encourage sincerity. My father worked for 35 years in Railways without even a small accident record.

Government paid him 500 rupees as award money.

How can it improve efficiency?

No Administration in Railways
by Sudipto Misra on Jul 24, 2010 09:15 PM

Of late during my few trip by railways during Mamata Banerjee's time I found that there has been no administration in the railways as compared to Lalu's time. She should now give priority to railways rather then get involved in dirty politics of West Bengal. If she continues to dream of becoming future CM of West Bengal, she should immediately resign from the responsible post of Railway Minister & concentrate on local politics of West Bengal.By keeping the gun on Naxalites shoulder, she cannot evade her resposibility of so many innocent lives
