1. The food available is TOP QUALITY. 2. Fantastic Security and Safety. 3. The Coaches are Modern. If fire breaks out - it is so rugged and closed - that it will keep everything(one) inside. 4. The berths are so modern. Even old people find it easy to get on to the top berth. 5. Railways Minister is world class. Within seconds of accident - she knows the cause. 6. It is world's largest employer. No skills necessary, just flash your caste certificate or contacts - you are in. 7. No one ever asks for a bribe. Even when you load your 2-wheeler into train - the attendant demands bribe never asks. 8. 70 Km/hour is considered Express. 75 Km/Hour is SuperFast. Thank God, we don't have bullet trains - else they might run at 80 Km/Hour.

Correction. Below 50 Kmph average speed is express. 50-70 Kmph average speed is Superfast. 70-80 Kmph average speed is Shatabdi and Rajdhani.
things railways need to do 1) stop throwing shit and pee on the track. railway station smells like a public toilet 2)start modernising. Look at the railways in china
I think M G Arora is highly narrow minded as mentioned by him that only rejected and ineffective people are posted in Safety directorate. Hence he is a rejected guy so rediff should waste thier time in talking to rejected people. Just to make it clear teh signalling system in world over including India works on a fail safe system. i,e any failure on signallimg sytem occurs on a safe side. Further in absolute block working or automatic signal the signal is RED when the ahead track is occupied by a train. MG Arora must have been working in his room and hence he is totally unaware of Signalling and operating principles of Railway. Has he seen that signal in Santhia station was green when a train was standing ahead. He should not make loose comments. Rediff is requested to talk to sensible person from Indian Railways and not to ineffective and rejected people like MG arora.

All because of these Hindi fools insisting on Hindi. Only because they insist of Hindi, the others insist of their religional languages. All should accept English, as they have accepted trousers, shrits, t'shirts, televisions, etc., which are alos western.

It is not wrong in learnignHindi. I speak Hindi very well. But is that the point? Hindi and Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam are poles aprt, asking a person to learn the language is not going to work. When the laws of the country arein English and not in Hindi, when everyone wants to put their children in English schools, why not accept English? By the way, Indian English is a distinct language now. I have heard old timers say that Sanscrit was more acdeptable in the South than Hindi. If we much have a common language, why not Sanskrit, mother of Hindi and most north indian languages and from which even independent languages like Tamil has derived several words.

All the sulabh toilets in railway premises also are manned by arrogant and uncouth biharis. Hooliganism to the core.

NOT TO SAVE PRECIOUS HUMAN LIVES BECAUSE IT IS ON SALE @ 5 LAKHS EACH BUT TO SAVE LOSS OF PROPERTY & INCONVENIENCE TO OTHER TRAVELLERS.
WHY CAN'T MUMBAI LOCAL TRAINS BE TAKEN AS A GUIDANCE TO AVOID ACCIDENTS?
OVER-POLITICS OF ALL THE MATTERS IN INDIA SPECIALLY IN UPA II IS ROOT CAUSE OF ALL PROBLEMS.
