Political motive
by acharya nitin on Jul 17, 2010 08:40 PM

On one side of border we have BJP Govt(KAR) and other side is ruled by Congress(MAH).
Our political leaders have no intention to serve people , they only look for political gains . Hence this border issue has erupted once again .

1) Make Bombay union territory as it has less that 10% marathi speaking population.
2) Make vidarbha a separate state as majority are hindi speaking. These areas have been neglected by marati politicians since formation of state.
3) Make konkan a separate state or merge with Goa as majority are konkani speaking.

Human
Mumbai & Vidharva
by Human on Jul 17, 2010 08:32 PM

In Mumbai more than 80% of people speak hindi.
In Vidarbha more than 70% of people speak hindi.

If language is such a big issue for MH government, why not separate Mumbai and Vidarbha first and set an example?

Belgaum

Britishers have taught us one undesired lesson of decide and rule. To gain political mileage, people are dividing our country. This is the high time our central government brings an ordinance and put an end for this type of divisions. Whether it is Telangana, Belgaum or chattisgarh. we had enough of this dirty politics.

Not sure why this is being called a dispute between Mah and Kar. Delhi had officially assigned belgaum to Kar in 1956 and it turned down a challenge by MH twice !!!!

People Mandate is needed
by duraiswamy srinivasan on Jul 17, 2010 08:17 PM  | Hide replies

To solve this problem the people should be asked by vote to which state they wish to go in that way decision should be made with out doing that by force nothing can be achieved by this useless italy government in india.

They themselves are marathis. There is no non-marathi is Vidarbha. May be some of them are migrants from $hit belt of north.

Thats the problem with democracy - it counts the number of heads, not their weight. So Voting in India is not a good solution to any problem.

New Laws for the country must be put in place.
by girish on Jul 17, 2010 08:15 PM

It is painful to see the dispute between Maharashtra & Karnataka over the Belgaum issue. I have very good friends on both the sides of border and hence feel that the issue must be resolved amicably. My suggestion is that the centre should bring in new laws and legislations which should stop any attempts for making language as a political tool. A citizen of a country should be able to learn any language he/she wants irrespective of the state he/she belongs. The promotion of langauges should not be left to the whims and fancies of state governments.
