I think Belgaum district and sholapur district should be swaped between karnataka and maharastra once in 10yrs.Then this problem will be solved. Or dismiss both Maharastra and karnataka state government and kept under president rule. After all the issue is between these two states. They are not superior than country. If they can't resolve but only quarrel for a portion then better dismiss the government. Then the people who support such kind of politics will get a lesson
If mahrastrians leaders want peaceful to other states they better shut their mouth. Otherwise all neighbour states kicks them. Some part of the hyderabad state (Telugu and urdu speaking) mergered illigally to maharastra. We demand our land back if they dont stop talking on marati. It should merge with Andhra.
I went to Belgaum few years back for an exhibition.It was so nice being there.I felt as if , i am in Maharashtra.People are living peacefully there.People are not at all interested to whom that place belongs.
We are unnecessarily wasting our time, effort, and money on inter State borders rather than it's alround development. This fight becomes all the more meaningless when we are really not worried over our country's border being contested by China and occupied by Pakistan. This should be taken in all seriousness. Like Marathi speaking villages in Karnataka, there are Kannada speaking villages included in Kerala TN, and Andhra and vice versa. Hence Central Government stand is very correct in the interests of the country. Otherwise, there will be no end to this type of squabbles. If it all States reorganisation is considered very necessary, then the States could be restructured as zones ( Like Railways ) with Administrative consideration only as criterion and not any other yardstick like laungage, region, culture etc.

Like that, there is a dire demand for the creation of Vidharba within Maharashtra. That's why I referred as there is no end to this fighting. Let's concentrate on protecting our international border.
The simple solution is to make people of belguam make a vote on which state they wanna live and everyone has to respect it. If the verdict goes to karnataka then as it is there but if it goes to Maharastra then the state expenditure minus the the revenues collected for past twenty years has to bore by it. simple solution. This democracy damn it so let the people decide not a bunch of jokers on both side which is just for there own vested interest. Some people may not agree but instaed of just defying let them give a better solution and let the common solution which is agreed by evryone here can be send as a message so that we can take the initition to end the confict. let us try to find peace rather than conflicts. We are humans and let us start behaving as one.

Right. Lets have a belgaum public vote on this issue. both states will abide to the results then.
Belgaum belongs to Karnataka and it's not at all an issue.It has been made an issue by Shiva sena for its political benefit..Marathi people should live with Kannadigas in harmony for their good sake. Remember that you people (Marathi) are living in our state,which has given everything for your livelihood.At least respect that.
