Remove tax on Petrol
by Amit Chandra on Jul 05, 2010 07:18 PM

While on onehand deregulating makes lot of sense as the benefit of rationaing and subsidies was going to line the pockets of lazy workforce of OIL PSU's on one hand and corrupt criminal Politicians - businessperson who were diverting subsidies to say Kerosene to adulterate fuels.
I agree deregulation is fine - but the taxes on petrol and petroleum should be same as VAT on any other product - tax on petrol is tax on poor of this country and FM/ PM knows this very well and should not be allowed to get away with this.
I find parallel with situations leading to Salt agitation - there British decided to tax the salt as a way to tax indian poor.

They will not talk about ....
by Sanjay Reddy on Jul 05, 2010 07:16 PM

Bloody Indian Industry - Bloody Congress Party - they are talking about losses due to bandh but they dont talk about -

That is how much just the grand old family of India has stashed away in Swiss Banks...

That is about how much YSR and his son Jagan made looting AP ....

That is 1/1000th of how much the politicians are making every day looting India ....

But there is no food.. no water ... for the 1 Billion population of India ...

Now the most corrupt English Media will try to play down the bandh today in terms of losses to the country ..

WE CAN TALK ABOUT LOSS IF EVEN 1 RUPEE REACHES THE COMMON MAN ... TALK ABOUT INDUSTRY AND TALK ABOUT BHOPAL ...

Today's Bharat Bandh
by sant sehgal on Jul 05, 2010 07:09 PM  | Hide replies

I am not supportive of any kind of bandh & would say these should be banned legally. People are commenting on price rise & accepting, bandh should have happened. I would like to ask these people, the trains which have been cancelled, the flights which have been cancelled & the amount of money which has been lost by today's bandh, how is Government going to take care of these loses, obviously by increasing prices & taxes again. Hence more "mehngai". This is a vicious circle & must stop.
I do not think BJP has gained any mileage out of today's bandh, in my opinion it has been a failure.
At last, I would like to apeal to all the political parties, to stop calling for 'bandh', instead do something constructive to gain mileage. Bansh do not help, in any way, but cause hardship for the common man, who elect them.

Bharat Bandh is unnecessary. Parties should protest in parliament and not through blockade. The aim of protest is to benefit poor and not to harash them. The parties who make who & cry of price rise did nothing when they got opportunity to rule.BJP in Jharkhand have raised the price of cooking gas when they were in power. The people itself is misusing petrol and diesel. When the prices of petrol and diesel was low, the number of personal vehicle was less, whereas now a days a number of vehicles are found stationed in houses. When there is no population control, then how could we control inflation, price rise.Everybody is culprit alongwith the successive governments of the land.
