Bandh's spontaneous success shows frustration of people against Govt. It was mockery of the system that UPA 1 lowered cost of fuel by RS.5 when international crude rates were 147$ per barrel and now they increase the rate by 8/- in six months when crude price is 72$.
Right from time of Independence, congress has done nothing. Only big talks . They have never done anything for the poor or for the economically backward or for the minorities. The other parties are headed by aged nuts who cannot even complete 2 years term. Something is better and the so called asses have to be choosen. The British Raj should come back . Only they can deliver
Deregulation of fuel prices has been done to help private corporate players, since the petrol prices were subsidized, private players were not able to sell petrol since they were at loss, now since it is deregulated & no subsidy on petrol all private cos will be able to sell petrol on prevailing market prices.... deregulation is not a reform its a result of corruption..so that private players can earn huge profits..."""CONGRESS KI LAAT AAM AADMI KE SAATH AUR HAATH KHAAS AADMI KE SAATH""""

A common man asks `I can only afford a train ride. Why should I be accumulating debt with the subsidy for petrol which is mostly used by the rich who afford a car, taxi and air travel.
Have seen many posts today some in favor and some against the bandh. Let us know a few facts first and then decide about our support. Firstly following are TENTATIVE RETAIL PRICES of Petrol in various Countries :- AFGANISTAN 36.00 BANGLADESH 22.00 BURMA&nbs p; 30.00 CUBA 19.00 NEPAL 34.00 PAKISTAN 26.00 QATAR 30.00
None of them is a developed country. Now India has Rs.53.00 for Petrol Price which is worked out as follows : Landed Cost at Indian Port Rs.17.47 32.97% Import Duty Rs.12.50 23.58% Excise Duty Rs.10.32 19.48% Vat Rs. 8.47 15.98% Vat Ces Rs. 4.24 7.99%
Instead of increasing prices Government could have reduced a few taxes / duties to control the prices of fuel and also inflation. Actually the losses are because of heavy taxes and not because of price rise as the cost of actual fuel is merely 32.97% of what we are paying at petrol pumps. Actually government is getting more than 50% in form of various duties / taxes they charge on fuel.
Government has got a lot of money from telecom spectrum sale, from sale of equity in government companies.
this is my reasoning to support the bandh. do you agree ?

See the results of the Oil PSU's of India - BPCL, ONGC, HPCL all posting profits. Whihc losses is the PM talking about? The losses that are talked about are "notional losses" to which a deliberate word of simply "losses" is used.

This government is toatally careless about aam admi. They cares for themselves and inturn industry. Strong bandhs are the only option to wake them up (they will still not wake up as there is no election around). Congress ka haath, aam aadmi ka gala
