A Genuine person get promotion upto Commodore, Brigarior which is One Star. From there on political connections take the rot to top and genuine person with integrity and pride will resign from service.

So rotton politics of india produce rotton leaders in defence forces

Worrying problem in Indian Defence forces
by kumar kn on Dec 14, 2010 11:49 AM  | Hide replies

Definately there are areas in which we have problems. The present Army chief is an honorable man unlike the previous chief and other senior officers involved in the Adarsh Scam. The defence forces need urgent modernition but it arms/planes/ships,etc but our politicians sleep over this problem.China is marching ahead by leaps and quick dicisions are taken there resulting in a big gap between us and them. Our forces are one of the best in the world but they get a raw deal by way of salaries and pension.Corruption has seeped in a few areas like arms purchase, etc.because of politicians. Our Defence Minister and Prime Minister are not inspiring figures. But they are close to Sonia.Hope the generals will stand up and fight for their dues with their civilian masters. The country is behind them.

In present circumstances, you never know who is an honourable man and who is not. Defense forces need urgent modernisation, but it is not just the politicians but also the generals who are sleeping over it. The ones who suffer are the poor jawans and people of india eventually.

To my mind, the most appropriate remedy would be to have personnel from Defence Forces to head MoD,rather than Civil Servants.

Muslim League was first fundamental party of united India latter this party demanded separate nation for Muslims & Pakistan was created. Due to partion lacs people massacred in 1947, on the bloods of innocent people Pakistan was created. On the basis of Muslim League Hindus formed RSS. Muslims & Muslim League responsible for the birth of RSS.

Why don’t you say it is Newton third law, every action has reaction, so Hindu can’t tolerate long, it was bound to come.

Good observations known to All
by falcon on Dec 14, 2010 11:43 AM  | Hide replies

Everybody in India knows what & where the problem lies, but the REAL problem is INACTION. The self declared superior breed of generals suck honest tax paying indians money in the name of national security. The big boys buy high tech toys in the name of national security, but when the time comes, everything is missing in action. Where were the SUKHOIS during kargil? Who let the jawans and people of india down in indo china war? Jawans in the indian army do not even get basic clothing, shoes and liveable conditions serving in border areas inspite of money being poured into the hands if these inept big boys of indian army. Shame on them .... The only reason india has been defended till date is because of the poor jawan who is ready to kill and die while the big boys smoke in the cosy comfort of their AC rooms in south block.

Remember, there is MoD sitting between the Army and its access to equipment. Don't blame the Army alone for it. It is the civil administration which decides what the Army gets and in what quantity in the end. The Army can only shoot letters to Babu's with various priority levels marked over the folder jacket. Don't blame the Army top brass alone for Jawans dying in Kargil. We were underequipped because we were crawling back from near bankruptcy during the 90's. It is not the poor Jawan alone who dies in a war. Lt's, Captains, Colonels have led the charge too and sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
Would appreciate it if you don't make such sweeping statements over an emotional outburst... because what you say is far from truth.

I have a close relationship with defence of our country my observation is this whole situation is because sons and daughters of people working in defence sector they dont give to respect to people in higher postion if and when any problem arises they will speak to there father who in turn will speak to people in delhi headquaters and they will dissolve the problem. There is a recuirtment problem also because of this such issue is happening.

No Hard feelings childrens of defence people are not giving respect to defence persons. My father was also a defence personnel.

Leadership Problem
by rkms on Dec 14, 2010 11:20 AM  | Hide replies

India has Leadership Problem. We do not have a single leader around whom rest of the country can rally and move ahead.

Simple Test:
Name a single Political Leader who talks about UNITY of the country? All are regional and divisive in nature.

Leadership comes only when the empty drum of democracy is removed.

A strong leader is born, when he does not think of making money in this life

The worrying rot in Indian armed forces , civil services etc.
by raman govindan on Dec 14, 2010 10:51 AM

Gandhiji did not realise " how costly to maintain him in a simple manner of life like that of an average villager"

according to given statitics, an average indian now gets around 53,100 per head as his income. if his wife were to earn equalent amount the combined income will be 1,06,000. there is no tax on that amount.

the top civil servants, army officers should be getting less than 12,00,000 per year as basic salary, and if income tax is removed from salary it may come down to less than 10,50,000 per yearless.

we allways find that the deprived class/group goes into agitation. it is being supported by all good samaritans. some of the civil servants/politicians who feel deprived and not getting just emoluments do not agitate but will be tempted to corrupt tendencies.

the nation pays for paying the civil servants miserly.
