Independent for the people who supported Gandhiji, not who opposed Gandhiji and at the end killed him. In my openion RSS & its Political wing BJP are not eligible to celebrate Independent...
GUYS MANKIND HAVE ALWAYS QUESTIONED AT ONE CORNER OF HIS MIND IF GOD EXISTED OR NOT, IF REBIRTH IS THERE OR NOT..
THE QUESTION WHICH AROUSED IN MY MIND TODAY IS IF "THE MAHATMA GANDHI" THE FACE ON OUR CURRENCY.. WAS HIS LEADRESHIP LED INDIA TOWARDS INDEPENDENCED OR WAS IT ENGLAND'S UNWILLIGNESS TO CONTINUE AFTER WORLD WAR FINISHED IN 1945??

Actually both. Also, world was getting more civilized with the establishment of UN. As a founder member of UN, it didn't make any sense to have colonies. It was not just India that got Independence. France, Portuguese --- everyone followed. Mahatma Gandhi's contribution is not just freedom movement. He laid foundation for principled resistance and Indian values in the modern context. Look at his life as something like "Gita".
Independent to the people who supported Gandhiji in his struggle against british rule. RSS is opposed Gandhiji from every corner at the end they killed Mahatma Gandhiji. So how can these Chaddis are celebrating Independent day. RSS and BJP are not eligible to celebrate Independent day.
the caption stating pm addressing on the eve of id is grave mistake. either people do not know correct english or there r wrong people at right places. it should not be on the eve of but actually on the day of.
are you not ashamed of impersonating as Srilankan and hiding your originality--coming from failed country called Porkistan.
Well, everyone know, pakies living outside that failed country are so ashamed that they introduce themselves as Lankans or Indians depending on the situation. Poor fellow.

I am Indian first. Even after that I do not come from South India. Only a coward can talk like that--is there a single south indian who fought for freedom ha ha--without having knowledge of Indian History.
But then, how can one expect a porki to know Indian History well? They only know how impersonate as Indians or Lankans and spread rumors.

Independence day is a sad day for the national flag. thousands will be sold, carried and hoisted by ppl who do not know the actual meaning of the flag and what it used to stand for. They will hold it and play with it for a few minutes to their heart content and will end up in a bin after that or torn to pieces by unsuspecting children who are more attracted to the color and wheel of the flag than its meaning.
Tomorrow will be a field day for the "Kachra wala" or the Municipal sweeper, for he will pile all the flags to a mound and will be burnt to peace.

"Happy Independence day" says a message and I think what should I be happy about.
May it makes ppl happy that is is National holiday and they can spend their time "not working".
I used to be a so called "proud" Indian. Then I started asking, why? I do not see any reason why I should be proud of.
Should I be proud of the many Indian satellites that roam around the earth or the 5th largest army that we have, that haven't helped us in our time of need.
should I be proud of the all the missiles we possess or bcz we have ppl in our country who have won Nobel Prizes?
Or should I be proud of the millions of children who will "even on Independence day" will be abused and go to sleep without proper food, while the other million will eat and waste food.
Should I be proud of the bunch of selfish, back stabbing individuals that this country has produced.
Should I be proud of the our cricket team that earn billions and no one knows where it goes.
As I see it, we should mourn the day for the dreadfulness that we have ahead of us, the governess that we have to face and thousands of awful news and images, that we still remain to hear and see that this Independence day will bestow on us.

I think you should See Happy Independce day in following context I believe you know that Britishers ruled the country plundering Indias weath You might not be aware of around a million people died in a famous famine in a draught area near bihar and bengal You might not be aware of disease like leaprosy , Chicken pox ,Cholera ,Plaugue Eating away half the Prime youth on whose shoulders country is supposed to rest You might not be aware of the fact that 100 of hands of handweavers in bengal were chopped of becuase they use to produce superior yarn as compared by imported cotton Surely you would have forgotten massacre by general dyer
YOu might not know the tax levied on Salt
So dear friend read history because many things which you take for granted are due to freedom
I do agree still more freedom is required from clutches of these monstorous politicians and I would support any person who walks in that direction

We don't want to forget our history, nor we want to forget the bravery of our martyrs and the tyranny of the British imperialism.
But what the British was doing in broad daylight, today's politicians are doing sitting in cold rooms but with equal cruelty. Otherwise how can one explain the rottenning of millions of tons of food grain while one third of the nation skips one meal daily.
We need to create awareness, spread education and before anything, we must unite and rise above religion, caste, language and region.

sorry to rain on your parade..ppl get educated either to get out of the country forever or manipulate the system even more for their comfort. Most of the ppl involved in scams and corruption are educated.

I agree. You'd also agree that if you have enough green grass in your garden, your cow will not venture out.
Similarly if there is enough opportunities within the country, nobody would like to move out. After all who wants to leave the family and friends to move abroad unless it is a pressing need of survival?
If people get what they are getting abroad, they will stop migrating.
We have the belief that in due course of time, through continuous struggle to spread awareness and to educate the poor, our country will reach the stage when everyone will be able to make a living in an honest manner.
