I think Mr Salim Haque's article makes sense.Govt may be barking up a wrong tree ..Govt miust embark on emotioal package which can have lasting value. even Children from Kashmir must be brought to different states of India by sponsership frpom middle class and rich indians and let them have fun, knowledge and connection wiuth rest of India.It is i8ndeed worth trying.RThanks Mr Sliam Haq for sane advice.

they might consider it despicable to visit any other indian state. they would like india pour more money into their hands, since ISI-money for freedom-fighting may be drying up, bec of pak's own problems.
If Religion is the only scale of measurement for freedom call by Kashmiri's then they need to look not any further than Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghansitan.
Cries of freedom on the basis of only religion is flawed. We have more Muslims in India than our neighbours. Walking with hands in hand with other religions, working together for progress of country and of their own.
Where as if one looks at the barbaric punishment being provided by Talibani's in interior parts of Pakistand and/or Afghansitan on the name of justice, that will make one numb for a moment.
Indian government is inactive, impotent. Keeping a problem in the box locked for so many years doesn't provide any solution. Only way to solve problems is increasing communications, interactions between people and providing all with a peaceful atmosphere to live and work in.
Article 370 MUST be removed. People from other parts of country must be allowed to move and settle down there. Let the business and industry prosper there. None can deny, we have spent much more money and blood in Kashmir than any other state in India.
Hardlines must be taken to task. On one hand Syed Shah Geelani rejects abruptly all talks of peace, healing of wounds, calls of peace and progress by Indian PM and on the other hand he asks Kashmiri's to observe solidarity day on August 14 (Pak's Independence Day). This shows his real face and what he is up to.

However I am against people being forced to join the union.It's very clear that this union benefited some people while was to the detriment of many.Let there be a referendum in all states about viability of India Union, including Kashmir.This way it will be better for everyone.

Our democracy system itself serves as a biggest tool for group of people to drive their ideology in a peaceful way.
Referendum in any country in the world would split that into 1000 pieces.
For e.g Old Delhi is culturally different from New Delhi. Hyderabad is different from Secunderabad in culture, demography. Same goes with North Chennai and South Chennai.
If you have referendum in Pakistan, every war lord would like to have a piece of that land and can cliam it as a country.

Why don't the musl!ms in the rest of Ind!a go and do what the author is asking. Why don't Rehman conduct a concert there. Why doesn't SRK and Amir go there and tell them what they are doing is wrong.

It is not common to find such good work by journalists in India (on offense but fact). The reason why I call it good is for several reasons. It makes excellent arguments. It poses not only problems but realistic and original solutions.
I hope it gets read. Not just by folks like us, but politicians and bollywood celebreties too. Well they have a personal stake in it too...besides helping the cause, they would their image too.
One point I would suggest you should think is also removing Article 370. Just like caste system, which if not removed, keeps reinforcing the point that some people are different, this does the same.
Once again...I seriously hope it makes a difference.
On your part, do 1 more thing....take a step further. Give more efforts to spread these thoughts. Obviously you should take part in these activities too; it would give you the rightful credit for these ideas. Sam

Freeing Kashmir is not an easy solution because India would be fragmented.Other states would demand seperation tomorrow. Withdraw all security forces. Just guard the border. Let them live, die, do whatever shit they want to do with their lives. Remove all Central Govt machineries. Make Kashmir Autonomous. Just do not interfere in their affairs. Give this a try. Everything else has FAILED

THAT IS TRUE REMOVE SECURITY FROM KASHMR WE SEND THEM TO SAVE THEM WHEN THEY DON'T WANT LET THEM GO TO HELL PUT IT ON BORDER TO SAVE COUNTRY THAN KASHMIRIS.
The real Problem is that they are in majority, and when they are in majority secularism or Nationality takes a back seat. Then they develop affection to the failed state and invite their hardcore so called freedom fighters. They create more trouble and kick out the remaining minority and start creating trouble. Then the Security force has to be called in. Then they will complain of Security. Though they have special status, the development is giving the highest priority by taking all the money from taxpayers to this land. But they find it easy to create rukus in the name of freedom and when they do this the development of the state takes a back seat. Nobody likes to visit that place and tourism is effected which in turn makes their life difficult and then they create more trouble. This is the real cycle. No matter what our soft puppet singh does these people are going to be anti national and its not their fault its the problem of their religion. How can you expect a Majority will be normal when they create so many problems when in minority.
A fellow forum user has really awaken me. Here's SOME FOOD for THOUGHT: It goes without saying that it is these anti-nationals who are responsible for so many issues with the community from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Why are the same folks not saying anything about the happenings in Kashmir?? The Muslims in India have to undergo a test of their loyalty now. For once, I am afraid my loyalty goes with the Hindu organisations who are being trampled upon by fellow Hindus who are really in the live and let live mode. Today, the reality is slowly dawning within me that the Muslim community is having the cake and eating it too in India. This is REMEMBER at the cost of the Hindu majority community. High time we have this food for thought. Why are the likes of SRK, Amir, the other Khans, Dilip Saab, Saira, Shabana, AR Rahman not saying anything?? Are they afraid?? If so please do say it. The solution to the issues in Kashmir lies within this community. Please do think on this line as our survival probably is at stake on some kind of conspiracy.
Congress ruled the country for 50 years & they couldn't solve kashmir issue.India is still with the same problems in Asam,Bengal, Naxalists....manmohan singh talks about growth rate only but that too is maintained by private sector...The govt can't control fiscal defect/inflation/Political stability...Can we ever proud on our nationality our system our govt?
