B. Raman's Realistic Appraisal of Indian Global rating...
by D goel on Nov 21, 2009 02:41 PM  | Hide replies

D. Goel,Pkl. afternoon,2.30pm, Saturday, Nov 21, 2009.
Truly Sri B. Raman appraises our role as hyphenated with Pakis in South Asia only, as Obama and Hu Gibao in Beijing affirmed on Tuesday after their long parleys.
Of course some soothing lolly-Pops (Words)shall be offered ,now ,on the occasion of Indian PM's official visit to Washinton at White House Banquet. But ,one can see , that India is seen to be of secondary importance , inasmuch as
US President did not find time to visit N.Delhi while going over to Seoul, Tokyo or Singapore
besides staying 3 days in China.
You cannot wish Influence unless you earn it either by resolute discipline of Security Paramountcy or Economic Growth.
For no fault of poor Academic Manmohan Singh
Indian State has not started at all at this arduous Journey , no not just ,yet.D. Goel

The first 2 paras made sense but u lost the plot in the end. The information is factually incorrect w.r.t to number of billionaires and number of ppl speaking English. Still there is no denying to the overall theme of what you have said.

Hello brother (Lanka)SINHALA-LION why dont you look in to your own country(Lanka) political system which is worst and more corrupt than Indian politics. According to International Corruption Perceptions Index SriLanka ranked 94th and how can it becomes Singapore in 20 years?..In the 1980s, and particularly after the signing of the 1987 Indo-Lanka Accord, many became increasingly militant in rejecting proposals for federalism or devolution. The Janatha Vimukti Peramuna (People's Liberation Front — JVP)at this time they recruited bhikkus in support of its armed anti-accord insurrection and still it is giving problems politically. Even media can not even write or speak loudly against the government, if they speak they will be killed, Who kills..? Everyone knows..Srilanka is not exception to India (in poverty,corruption,dirty-politics)infact most worst. Whether India is rich or poor but SriLanka always needs India to go forward (in terms of business and politics)..
India helped to SriLankan government to solve LTTE problem though it had problematic situation in Tamilnadu. Geographically Lanka is attached to India so it should feel India as it's partner. Everything in Lanka is influenced by India(from politics to business, noone can deny it.SO STOP CHANTING CHINA CHINA AND COME BACK TO REALITY.

Hand outs
by sg sg on Nov 21, 2009 11:23 AM

Why do we wait like a refugee nation waiting for hand outs from the usa? I think the politicians need to be told that we are second to none on terms of national security and market growth, both of which the usa heavily rely on. But before that we need to take actions to secure our borders and waters and to send strong messages to the Pak and Chinese to lay off land that traditionally belonged to us. Unless we flex our muscles no one will give a damn. We cant even make a decent flyover and rapid train / bus system / host the Asian games without cost and time over run. Where do as people have the courage to think global.

who cares whether the rest of the countries do not think india to be a potential power.they will be hitting their own foot with a hammer if they keep india out of their priorities.obama seems to be a completely confused prez as for australia do not forget their leaders came running here not to lose the so called students wanting to study there after being bashed up.japan economy is in doldrums and they project the chinks because they are the backroom manufacturers for products which the so called developed economies find it too expensive to manufacture.

India has plenty of RAVANAs
by partha sharma on Nov 21, 2009 11:12 AM

India has plenty of RAVANAs, in the form of corrupt politicians, regulators, unscrupulous businessmen and so on......

Indian democracy has created these RAVANAs.

Since Indian RAVANAs have born in India, they can not abolished.

Had they born in other countries (like in Ramayana Ravana born in Lanka)they would have been abolished.

We have to be DOOMED because of our RAVANAs.

It is high time to get rid of these unscrupulous characters.

China has policy and will in place to abolish unscrupulous personnel.

ARE WE REALLY DOING SOMETHING
by Vascado on Nov 21, 2009 10:31 AM  | Hide replies

It is estimated that India will have a population of over 160 Crores by 2050 and overtake China to become the most populous Nation. This is really a serious issue. Do we have the land area and natural resources to support such a population ? Have we realized the amount of strain such a huge population will put on our resources, infrastructure and food security. China by virtue of its strict "one child norm" has been able to put brakes on its exponential population growth, while we in India apart from paying lip service, we are doing nothing to the huge problem that stares in our face or are we resigned ourselves to the fate ?

One child policy may be too late for India. We have to apply a hard brake for the run away train. How about one child for two couples
