India should at least have future program in-place for for making such hi-tech fighter planes for our-selves, like F-16, F-22s and compete with th rest of the world. My day dream is countries like US, Italy, France, Russia will buy hi-tech fighter planes from India by paying billions of dollars :)..., I know guys its my DREAM ...

Defence research has been the monoply of the govt. in the form of DRDO. Now this sector is being opened out to the private sector which should have been done at least 20 years back. By now we would have produced world class planes.

Give more jobs for with quotas and they will build the best and quality aircrafts. sell these aircrafts to US, UK, Pak, Afgan and all so called Indias threat. You dont have to wage war, with the purchase of our aircrafts they will be on their way of defeat or self destruction.
Look how our IAF flights fall like dead birds when they do regular sorties. All these aircrafts are maintained by our reserved deserved engineers and workers of HAL.

To reach at the top you have to dream high.. So if we all are dreaming high then only we will be able to reach our goal to be no 1 and we surely be reaching it.
When we talk about Swadeshi for Indian products but in defence we are videshi 99%. We are dependent & on mercy of foreign people for our defence. Thats not all. Our govt. never uses this force to tackle terrorists. They don't have the guts to destroy the terrorists camps located in Kashmir,Pakistan & Bangladesh. Then all this machines would some day be corroded without any use.
all these are french, russian and soon american planes. whats to be proud of? IAF = Imported Air Force. indian technology has been languishing for 60 years. cant make a decent civilian plane that can fly, forget high tech military.

The technology might not be indian, but the manufacturing is done in india. Even for the SU-30s.
That is what HAL does. you should not always reinvent the wheel, you should be smart enough to buy technology when you can, and learn to jump farther.

None of the plane is make in india sreekanth. MIG 21 which india clams is build in india and in reality they are also only assemblem here not made. I am pround of inida as it is and is hopefull that we will make our own plane and for any technology to be developed we need money and for that first we need ecnomy to be strong and thats what is happening, so in few year time we all will see india making its own plane

hehe, dont get all riled up. btw sherlock, I am 100% desi. my contribution to this country is irrelevant to the point here.
All I am saying is, we need to wake up and smell reality. Touting foreign made planes each of which cost nearly $50-100M as our achievement is not only false pride and just plain stupid, it also means we have no desire to do something about this.

in that case, we better pray NSC Bose rebirth. he will declare indians in one religion, one caste: "INDIAN". if he would have lived his full life, USA & UK would have had made in India in their hangers by now.
We have a number of HAL units spread across the country employing thousands of Engineers, technicians and support staff. in Addition we have national Aerospace lab, wind tunnels, avionics reasearch, gas turbine research center and many reseach centers under CSIR employing again hundreds of engineers and scientists. But all our planes are made in forign country even Brazil etc. What is the use of this organisations existance in India when we have to depend on american and European companies. For our satisfaction boing and Airbus gies us business to supply some sundry items and we are proud of that as an achievement. It is shame on us.

What is the use of all this aircrafst when none of them till today is used against terrorists operating from Pakistan. Our govt. doesn't have the courage to go at war with terrorists just as Isreal is doing in their own country without thinking of International pressure. All this mighty force is useless until we use it in real war scenerio. Our govt. is just providing free of cost lip service against terrorism rather then doing anything concrete against terrorists operating from Pakistan. All ladies should send their bangles to all those sitting & doing nothing inside the parliament.....

thats because we have brave men ready to lay their life for the security of us. otherwise we would have lost the battle.

That is true even today after so many years of war and resent terrorist attack, we have not learn anything. Still our force is way behind in getting modern equipment and information.

True ,But like all things it has a life span (which it has fulfilled ) Time to go in for a state of the art tech fighters & force multipliers
