Where this race is to an end.
by Sadanand Bodas on Jun 06, 2009 10:17 AM  | Hide replies

Is it not wonderful that all over the world a huge amount is being spent for destruction and destruction only. When this race of bullet for bullet is going to end.Can this huge amount be used for human development and betterment of out planet earth rather than inventing more and more sophisticated weaponen simply meant for destruction.

Arm the local police man first, replace the lathi with a pistol
by Bitter Truth on Jun 05, 2009 06:41 PM  | Hide replies

All the SU 30 and all the great Armament purchases seem absulutely useless when the first response of India the policeman carries a Lathi or most a 1904 model Lee Enfield 303 riffle.

Lessons of 26-11 were that the average policeman rushed to the call of duty and also died performing their duty. The brave Mumbai policeman who died performing their duties were all armed with the same hitech wepons...wodden Lathis and 1904 model 303 Riffles.!!!

Even policeman in Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh carries beter wepons than what a beat constable or a havildar in Indias police force carries.

Police is a state subject but states do not have the money or resources to arm the entire Police force. If India spends Billions of dollars to buy advanced weponery when the experince of last 20 years has shown that its the policeman on the streets who have faced the jihadis face to face and not the SU 30's pilots.

Arm the avrage policeman on the street first as its that expendeture that is going to make the average Indian feel much more safe and secure.

Indeed, it is a very wise suggestion. let us cut on all unnecessary expenses. Can this thought of also in helping the poor children to study? What about our TV ads? they are for the rich. The poor never figures in them

well dear all, nations spend so much on arms.... reasons are simple. more muscles means more respect, having sophisticated arms means prestige and power, and one truth is because of all these we are able to sleep. of course police needs modernisation. and in many parts of the country it is modern and efficient too.
if our country were not required to buy these costly toys....we need to change ouroutlook as citizens.....we need to be indians first, then can come regionalism, caste, creed and religion. we are living in the midst of selfserving political class, sycophants, terrorists and many more... where every so called noble action and thoughts are mere lip service rather than action. why crib about the purchase of such sophisticated weapons, why not we fore go our desire to buy and own more gold jewellery year after year, crazy wedding celebrations. if we are not ready to change with in... then we do need these weapons to keep away the greedy enemy to plunder our very own personal greediness

All the things that you and everyone here are talking about are great and wonderful but how many of us actually go out and vote in the elections? How many of us actually pay the income tax that we are supposed to pay? How many people lie about their income in their IT returns? How many people in this country vote for a party or a person because they are from the same religion or caste? How many people have voted for a Government that does something for them rather than a party that promises them free TVs and Free electricity?
There is a spending problem in Indian States & there is a revenue problem because of the dishonest individuals. If majority of people refuse to give in to greed, then Paki or a Chini enemy can do nothing to this Country. There is only one way this whole country can click and for that to happen we need honest leaders and citizens.
How honest are we as Indians?
Time to think about it.
JAI HIND!!!!

Air Force to recruit 5800 personnel
by GODAVARTI RAmesh on Jun 05, 2009 04:53 PM  | Hide replies

IAF is going to to add about 5800 airmen ,ground staff etc shortly. Army is short of 40,000 officers and is planning to fill up these vacancies through services selection board.Youngsters may look out for ads from the board in EMPLOYMENT NEWS regularly. Similarly Banks are about to recruit about 1 lac personnel shortly. While other countries are cutting down on work force India and perhaps China are the only nations hiring people even in this recession.

If the army is 40000 men short why not give a quota for sc's and st's.

Why should they only have it in eduacation and no fear job sectors?

Please stop this madness for goodness sake. Are you completely clueless as to what you are writing about? Reservations..... reservations..... Do you want someone to fight for this Country because he is a citizen or because he/she is an SC or ST or a BC or whatever? God help this country and its people.

I cant understand why we think in terms of everything compared to pakistan. We all know pakis are nothing they just bark we iin india needs to come out of that pakistan mentality and we have compete with china. He is the biggest enemy of India and its race between both.Wwe have to do things to keep china in mind as one up man ship is between us.Expansion is necessity of modern india.AS far as people raising question about why not build aircraft Listen in 1977 engine of aircraft was ready in bangalore and it required to be tested and at that time the green signal has been given that its fully ready to be fit into aircraft but some corrupt official played a trick and rejected it and they let purchase of fighter aircraft from abroad. How can we make our indeginious aircraft till these MNC like martin lokerbie are there they pay heft bribes. If we want to do really make an aircraft follow space like model tell to world at last moment that we are launching something our space programme is sucessfull coz at last moment we tell world that we are launching some satellite earlier our space people announce it month or two back that on which date we are launching something those all countries who got monpoly bribed our offical and that setback is there to face.We have to show things at last moment.I dont know how many of you know about spying scandal when some maldivian was caught spying in ISRo.Understand things still india is progressing inspite of corruption kudos.Jai India

Dear bitu i agree with u in all , except preparing against china ...as far as armed forces are concerned u must be aware that only china is the reason to make afghan base by US to monitor china, india and russia ....with help of paki bastered.like europe we asian countries have to stand toghther on our common border against common enemy who is invisible ,who is bribing our corrupt politicians and slow down our wepon technology "ALSO I WILL POINT OUT WHY STILL OUR ARMED FORCES RECRUITMENT IS ON BRITISH DHOWN SYSTEM SO ONLY NICE BABIES CAN ONLY BE SELECTED TO THREE FORCES"some one has to change it seriously for good and fast progress of our country "JAI HIND"

Dear Asif...I think rather than calling another country with names and wasting our energy we better should develop our country for working on indegenious technologies and creating world class infrastructure. All military operations are funded by govt. and thus govt. has to invest money in developing equipements it need for modernisation of our military operations.

Blaming and critising any other country won't help us ....its a good thing to set a bench mark against stronger countries like China/Russia/U.K/U.S but we need to understand and focus on pur limits as well.....

Thanks ASif and Ajaypal.See we have to set benchmark and that should be china against which we are competing.See triangle is not possible has you very well know china is building ports in pakistan, burma and sri lanka to take control of indian ocean and they are all the time makking india a target morever china will not shake hand with india as china is big economy. They went against US coz of that.China is thats why talking of G2 countries and moreover they are of the view that trade currency should be changed from dollar to yuan.So chinese monoply should be there.India got two enemies china and pakistan. On any given day we can destroy pakis but cant know much about chinese capibility. We should be beware of china pakistan is also banking on china for support all the time as they provided at time of 26/11.That y pakistan awarded chinese with there higest award.Jai India
