oh yeah right. The soldiers could have comfortably studied some IT and taken a job at a comfortable AC office and let the thought of national security go to hell...like you did.

But they didn't. First be in their position and then you will know. The salary they get is too little price for the lives lost.

If it wouldn't have been for our soldiers....either you would have been dead....or in Pakistan.

So just SHUT THE HELL UP. Morons should not be allowed in Rediff.
But

Everyone is a ptriot, in their own way, a does a bit of national Service as your father did.Suppose you conduct a recruitment to Army/Navy/AF , you will find the sepentine que of lacs of our jobless young lads. Can you convincingly say they came out of their home to join the Armed Force purely because of patroitic feeling?.Bearded writers patriotic songs our sheer love for the country? It is all humbug to say there exists pure love for family, or for country, but there really exists pure passion for oneself, for our own name and fame.Having said that, I have not right to dispute your father's sacrifice for the Nation. After all those sacrifices are the very basis of existence of our nation's Independence now and years to come.

I think our police need more urgent attention than military.
by bihari babu on Jul 26, 2009 10:52 AM  | Hide replies

Malitary are hero no doubt. But more than this we need police hero, IAS officers like hero. Since we have very big problems of internal violance like terror, naxal and other many crimes. Its highly important that we modernise our policing on war footing. Train them to be the best professionals. Provide them best system and high tech. Just like america has. Even if they find a dead body many years ago killed, they will figure out the identity quicly by simple dental x-ray.
We need to make our police realy hightech if want to leave peacfully, cofortably and develop honestly.

To be secular India should adopt the following.

1.Ban Conversions
2.Bring in uniform civil code.
3.Ban all the aid that help alien religions to build churches, mosques, mssionaries, madrarsas na NGOS's. These organizations are the reasons of today's national threat as they indulge in terrorism and conversions.

Airforce Pilots.
by krishnan bala on Jul 26, 2009 09:59 AM

The innumerable sacrifice done by our air force pilots guarding our skies will form golden chapters in the history of our airforce. I personally remember Flg.Off. C.Ireland who was killed in Hawker Hunter accident at an young age of 23 years over the Rajasthan desert. His mortal remains was handed over by Flg.Off K.C.Cariappa to his father in Chennai in a small box of 10inX10 in.Such occasions are heart rending and are a great treasure to memory. The nation knows too less about such personal sacrifices at tender age and the personal loss caused to the families.

When the British ruled your country, most of the top level adminisrative positions were held by the Tamils. And there was a very good reason for it. Sinhalese were outright stupids. Sixty years later they don't seem to have improved any further. In recent history, the leaders who killed thier own citizens were Hitler, Stalin and Polpot. Now we can add the name of the Sinhala leadership to that list. So much for Buddhism and His teachings.

Tahnks for admitting to killing your own civilians. I thought the very act of that was stupid enough and now that you admit to that cruelty, revealing the stupidity of your entire group. No intelligent group will follow the advice of other nations to kill their own citizens. Anyway, tomorrow if India asks your leader to eat s**t, I am sure your leadership will do it without hesitation. And that is the testament to the Sinhala stupidity. Now you know why the British kept you as low level peons.
