Everything is good of the people living in Mumbai.They are courteous,accommodative,helpful,co-operative,sensitive,patient & cool as compared to people living in some other parts of India,inspite of all the troubles they go thru in their day to day life,such as water shortage,power cuts,polluted air,overcrowded streets,buses,trains,urinals,schools & colleges.BUT they have one BIG drawback i.e lack of civic sense when it comes to spitting on the streets,urinating on the street corners/under the trees,throwing garbage all over the streets/railway tracks,eating on the road etc.If they can improve upon these negativities they may become eligible for President's award for their otherwise largely good behaviours in general. Who will educate them on this simple issue,BMC? NGO?GOVT?SOCIAL WORKERS?PARENTS?TEACHERS?

Hello Ganesh Bangera, You simply heightlights drawbacks and goodness of Mumbai people. But i ask you simple question who are they? They are all parts of India. Maharashtra, UP, Bihar, South , North etc. So it is problem of all Indians. All Indians are lacking social awareness. They can build good houses for themselves. But keep all surrounding dirty. They will drive good car but without driving sense. They can spit anywhere , They can throw paper anywhere, They can piece anywhere. It is duty of all to educate ourselves.

yes, u r right... but those who do this uncivilised behaviours are not mumbaikars... they are the up walla bhayyas... these guys have turned mumbi in a huge garbage ground. these guys should be kicked outta mumbai
When summer getting over every authority say we are ready to face rain may Railways, BMC, TMC or any lower catergory authority. but once rain start all this people vanish no one come on TV screen to say they are stupid and not done anythings for people just full over pocket. Even in news it come that Mr Uday Thakkeray visit personal to area for seeing all the cleanliness work done properly or not.
But what the result it come we all see today
We should make rule like if this happen like flood in rany season than all the authority who reposible to do the work should be penalty or make deduction in their salary empolyee

Hmm you said u were educated but seems quite poor in history!! Portuguese explorer Francisco de Almeida's ship sailed into the deep natural harbour of the island in 1508, and he called it Bom Bahia (Good Bay).Today's name - Bombay, was given by the British and they developed it after the islands were gifted to the king by Portugal after his marriage to the Portugese Princess. And hey, Portugese got Bombay from Gujarat Sultanate. So, I am not sure why Maharashtrians take pride and claim Bombay. Tell us which Maratha king had Bombay as his capital?? It's high time that city be converted to a union territory and have its own government which will make it into a Singapore or Shanghai like city. But Maha govt won't give that city because they need all the taxes coming out of it. And, why blaming folks from North and South of India for city's poor state? Infact as is the case everywhere these migrants made the city so prosperous. As per history, all except Koli community are migrants in Bombay. So why these cribs? Long live India and long live Bombay.

Mr Bhushan u shd be given Bharat ratna for yr comment.There is rain and flood problem everywhere in Delhi,Bihar,Assam,w. Bengal, orissa etc.why blame outsiders???? population is increasing, resources shrinking,peole want jobs and better std of living so they move outside.Dont maharastrains go to US,europe,australia etc.for better oppurtunities. For that matter even Aryans including maharstrains migrated from russians steepes to India at certain point of time.Have a heart to accomodate feelings and mind to solve problems. narrow feelings will only aggravate your problems

You are right you are very right, because most of the flood affected areas are Bihar and UP and most of the dirty and sinful people live on those lands. So you should be educated enough to smell the consistency in my statement.

Floods occur in US,Europe, China,recently Gujrat etc.due to global warming and not due to filth and dirt.Iam a maharastrian myself and see reason and logic for floods and not consistency.Population is incresing not only in Mumbai,but also in Delhi,Bangalore,chennai,kolkatta and in most cities bcos of oppurtunites to make a living for poor people.cmon even u would have migrated to mumbai or some other city if born in UP or bihar or any other poor state. see reason and try to help people and not bark like thackrey

hi.. the thing is .. u are one of the large population that has been misled by these marathi manoos politicians.. to put across some facts.. before you start blaming anyone.. i have been born and brought up in mumbai... so very well know why this situation has turned from bad to worse. the BMC is incharge of Mumbai, set to make administrative and executive policies for the betterment of mumbaikars. the BMC has largely only maharashtrians.. i.e marathi manoos, including max corporators, MLCs everyone, right from sweeper to the commissioner. the bmc failed to take steps to solve problems. illegal hutments where largely these 'outsiders' live, have grown across the city only because the bmc failed to raze them.. and stop these people from setting up more jhopdis. the corporators, MLCs everyone for votes, let these slums grow with no control and now want to regularise them. BMC people never knew of the storm water drains till 26th july 05 after which only the attention was on mithi river, which people thoght to be another nallah. BMC is suposed to make provision for roads. yet every year the rains and all others make road into potholes fit enuff to plant tress. who is responsible for that.. ? the outsiders or the BMC filled with marathi manoos? the state government does nothing to solve the problems of mumbai, where the CM is marathi manoos, the home minister and all other ministers are marathi manoos. what have they done..? nothing...now do u have to say anything.. ?

they blame outsiders to hide their corrupt BMC and political class where all Manoos are looting public funds!They know that untill they become straight nothing can improve in Mumbai..so why not blame outsiders for everything!
