I agree with you. 'Inhuman' is the exact word. Just because of the ridership factor people are being taken for granted and being subjected to this kind of 'Animalistic' service. The decision maker must realise that the railway is part of service to the nation and to the taxpayer. Railways should not operate under loss but profit is also not the moto. Profit should be inculcated only to the freight sector.

Dear Sir,
I am from Kolkata. A few days back I read a news in the Bengali Daily 'Ananda Bazar Patrika' that Railway Authorities have already received protest from a large number passengers in this regard and the Railway has decided to discontinue the "SIDE MIDDLE BERTH".

I am trying to locate the Railway Notification. Please help.

joke of the century
by rahiakil on Jan 13, 2009 01:21 PM  | Hide replies

Did you forget that joke , that given three months Lalu will make USA into Bihar.

Well, for homework , he started with India,
World class stations my foot.

Obviously , we dont have world class travellers too.

Middle Aisle seat, man, sitting accomodation for upto , 12 people in place of 8 during day journeys,
Setting about 202 ticket in Falaknuma for Tatkal, which means, even if the rest of the train is sold at cheaper tickets, profits are more.

Has he not made Indian rail into Bihar already.

God forbid if he were to become a PM some day. Obviously you and I have no control over that fact. Isnt it?

Welcome friends.
My last wish is for you to open your eyes. May be Lalu is your only somewhat famous product so you have to support hime somehow.
Think for India my friends , since half of you earn your living outside Bihar.

Lalloo, never gets tired of gimmicks..
by rajesh on Jan 13, 2009 01:19 PM  | Hide replies

These idiots get fantastic ideas when they go on foreign jaunts at tax payers' money.

Lalloo, first of all please implement some long pending demands and projects before bringing bullet trains:

1. Let the train be clean enough so that the bogeys do not smell of excreta and the gullible passengers do not feel that they are sitting in public toilets while travelling.

2. At least provide decent food (of course paid) which is good for human consumption in railways stations and trains. Most of the times people, after eating the 'food' have to sit in toilets for rest of their journey!.

3. Increase the speed of existing 'fast ' and super fast' trains to decent limits. Some trains still run at avg. 30 KM/hour. Shame ministerji...

4. Most of the railway stations smell so bad that people have to talke a bath after visiting the stations!.
