Statue : The least we can do...
by Rahul on Jun 03, 2008 04:35 PM

Along with statue, we also need to inculcate the principles and values Shivaji Maharaj lived with otherwise we will end up fighting only on naming wadapav and airport, railway station.
Indians first want security from terrorist and anti social elements and quality of life which Shivaji Maharaj always tried giving his people.
I hope this statue will build great strength and moral within ourselves.

There were three communities/states which principally brought independence to India ; Bengal, Maharastra and Punjab leaving the exception of Mahatma Gandhiji who was from Gujarat. Sadly, all three have lost their vision and past glory. Punjab resorted to a bloody separatist movement that took the lives of many inncocent including Punjabis themselves, Maharastra has been in the grip of pseudo-nationalism, xenophobia and moronic parochialism and Bengal devasted economically and politically by the long reign of the evil communists and is now one of the backyards of India. All these three great communities once so great have lost their sense of direction and is a victim of the Cult of Disgrace ; parochialism and cultural degradation. How sad!!!!!

British 1st came to the eastern part of India and built up their base in India through the service of Bengalis, who were admirers of British. Social reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, who lit up the light of bengali renascence, was higly influenced by English people. He admired the cultural/social superiority of the British and showcased these to his people, who started imitating the new culture. Well nothing wrong in learning good things from even enemies. But if there was no Indian National Congress, which was founded in Allahabad and whose members were not just from few parts of India, India would had been possibly one more Australia, a land of English people.

Would you like if I call Mohammed a paedophil. or a boar or something like that. Though personally I respect islam and its teachings upto a 'certain extent'.
Anybody can write BS with their faces covered on these forums. Guts or bravery is something if you can debate issues in the open.

Cynically exploiting Shivaji's name
by Jai Babu on Jun 03, 2008 04:14 PM

I am amazed at the depths to which these bloody politicians have sunk! Naming the international and domestic airports after Shivaji, the VT terminus after Shivaji, Vada Pav after Shivaji. Desreting libraries and attacking authors like Laine in Shivaji's name. Did these batch of nincompoops ever think of Shiv Shahi?? Shiv Shahi is like Ram Rajya where all people have peace, prosperity , security and a welfare state for the unfortunate, weak or poorer sections. That is the true legacy of a great patriot like the brave Shivaji maharaj! And what do these Shivaji bhakts propose to do to solve Maharshtra's problems like Power, Infrastructure, Agricultre reforms, Irrigation, poverty alleviation, healthcare, etc, etc. They should be all put in an airtight container and dupmed into the sea at the proposed site of Shivaji's statue.
