Independence Requires Defence Of National Sovereignty
by debasis chakraborty on Aug 26, 2008 08:34 PM

As we observe the 61st anniversary of India’s independence, a key question confronting the country is how to defend national sovereignty. Independence and national sovereignty go together. Erosion of our national sovereignty will endanger our independence. The strategic alliance which is sought to be forged with the United States of America will prove detrimental to our national sovereignty. As the CPI(M) Party Programme states: “The imperialist driven globalisation and the policies of liberalisation adopted by the Indian ruling classes have heightened the imperialist penetration in all spheres in our country.” This growing collaboration of the Indian ruling classes with imperialism has also found reflection in foreign policy. That is why the Party Programme states: “A major struggle lies ahead for the Left and democratic forces to fight back the pro-imperialist direction in foreign policy and ensure that foreign policy retains its non-aligned basis and orientation to ward off imperialist pressures.”

Forging a strategic alliance with the United States is a major step towards aligning India with US imperialism. This is what was attempted by the Joint Statement signed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Bush in July 2005. The strategic partnership consists of four parts. Firstly, India is to be part of the US bandwagon of “spreading democracy” around the world; secondly, the strategic economic partnership based on a blueprint for the interests of US and internati

T.P. Sreenivasan' Thoughts on INDIAN independence Day ,2008.
by D goel on Aug 18, 2008 02:08 PM

Pkl. afternoon 2.00 PM, Monday , aug,18, 2008.D. Goel
We certainly have to underline that a country of our kind of lopsided capabilities in program-implementation across the board, including Energy , Nuclear Technology and lackadaisical appartchiks, we shall be at beck and call of more energetic economic Leaders.
Our politicians dare not annoy our perched anchors at their misdemeanors like , earlier in Hungary
in 1956, or little later in Afghanistan in eighties ,by Soviets i be cause of our security dependence on soviet shields all those decades.
Even today , we are subject to face multiple crises for Oil , and Nuclear Technology unless we could make a break through by developing autonomous capabilities Reactor technologies based on processing our considerable Thorium deposits. I wonder ,why our well-known Experts shirk putting their shoulders to this one objective as an essential way to be independent of western domination as under Hyde Acts of US congress.D.Goel

Dear all, look at our internal basic problems
by Shreeram Shah on Aug 18, 2008 12:59 PM  | Hide replies

India is hell bent due to sheer negligence by our beurocrats in top level. These suit clad people, wearing tie look very gentle but they are rawdy, corrupt, lazy(kamchor), thugs. Do you all know....maximum of top beurocrats make tour to USA, UK, Germany etc in order to learn new programme so that these could be implemented in our country but what they do...these blood suckers do sightseeing...enjoy the priveledge of five star hotels...and come back home claiming some fake bills to govt. fund.
Very few people know that all kind of corruption is done by top beurocrats....instead people use to think politicians are to be blamed for corruption... But in fact..what happens..the beurocrats do scam...make crores of money by corruption....when it gets exposed by some honest one...then these beurocrats approach politicians to take shelter. Then the poiliticians, the foolish who does not know how to read file, makes money by sharing in the earnings by the beurocrats... This is the nexus going on.... Very unfortunate condition prevails in India: on one hand the pseudo educated top beurocrats are blood suckers and on the other hand indin democracy generate foolish landgrabbers, goonda, mafia people as rulers.

The IAS, with some exception, is a curse on this country. It cannot be legally justified but may be understood that corruption is eniviatble at their level. That is an issue, I feel the bigger issue is something else. These IAS guys, looking at manner in which they become IAS and work after becoming IAS, appear TOTALLY INCOMPETENT to carry out the complex job development for the common man. What I mean to say that their brains and skills, are simply not enough to manage country's development even though they put their best. These are a mediocre lot of people, managed to get into the system, having dainty style, no knowledge, no hadwork, no morals, no ethics, no spirituality, no vision, no courage - all the characterstics of depraved people - well protected in the system. Above that they have "systemic corruption scheme", "systemic protection lobby" if someone is in trouble. These are cowardly and frustated puppets of systems that are making Indian into a hell these days. Above that they are sent into departments about which they know hardly nything and are above that tranferred too abruptly to be able to do something. They learn Vaidarbhi dialect of Marathi while entering IAS and later manage the subsidies in fertilizer sector. What foolishness! I still would like to appeal the soul among them and churn out at least one fearless bureaucrat that would lead the IAS lobby to where it should be.

Why do we need Kashmir? How many of us really have good feelings about Kashmiris. When we read that the tricolour is burnt, anti India slogans are regular at rallies,Hurriat and Mehbooba Mufti demand opening of routes to POK etc etc.
The feeling it generates is that we need them and they dont need us. Is it really so? Do we really need Kashmir? Why are we spending some thousand crores of Indian tax payers money and killing our armymen in Kashmir?
Let them go to Pakisthan , then they will also realise like Muslims who went to Pakisthan at the time of partisan , that living like Mujahirs in Pakisthan is far better then living like a equal citizen in India.
If Kashmir goes to Pakisthan then the fat money coming to Hurriat leaders from Pakisthan will stop and politics of PDP will also collapse.
Then they will realise WHAT IT MEANS TO BE LIVING IN A FREE COUNTRY compared to A MINDLESS COUNTRY THRIVING ON FOREIGN AID AND HATRED.

This country is a Ramayan where Gandhi and Nehru are Ram and Laxman, Netaji Subhash Chandra Subhash Bose is Ravan. We should have Subhshbabu's print on every currecy instead of Gandhi. He is real hero of Indian freedom war. He actaully gave India freedom. All the milds in congress oppose the move by Bose and the great leader is dying a pitiable death even today. (I am mean we mention him nowhere). With the cropping up of regional parties and dilution of the biding thread of indetity of Hinduism, I will not be surprise to see, India broken in 40-60 countries by the time I die.

Well I dont think Kashmiris ever tasted the kindo of freedom rest of India got. With the whole Indian army in kashmir there is not freedom. I think Kashmiris should be given a chance to live freely within India. Army should be moved out and let them be like any other state in India and then lets ask them if they want to leave India. I dont think they would want to.

Well the army moved only after 1990.Before that they had full freedom. The only hurdle for Kashmir is that it is a special state with article 370,which makes it a country within a country rather than a state.
It is a state when it wants to take financial aid but for other things it is a country.

FOR GOD SAKE STOP TALKING THESE KIND OF PROVOKING THINGS. ITS SEEMS THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DIVIDING OUR NATION. WE SHOULD STAY UNITED AND FOCUS ON OUR ECONOMY GROWTH. THESE THINGS ARE RUBBISH, PEOPLE FIGHTING FOR RELIGION, LAND AMOUNG THEMSELVES. YOU FURTHER MIGHT SAY THAT SOUTH INDIANS ARE IRANIANS.around 1500 BC Aryan tribes from north invaded and marched further to south Asia. During the pre-historic times (around 3000 BC), the people of Kulli culture (North West Indian borders) excelled in making small boxes of soft stone, delicately engraved with linear patterns. At Susa (west Iran) a few pieces of painted pottery have been found which appear to be similar to the wares of the Kulli people. In the hills of Baluchistan, where the people of Nal and Zhob cultures built their little villages, the Barhuis, though ethnically now predominantly Iranian, speak a Dravidian language (spoken in South India).

Hi Mohammed, Drvid and Arya as two races is discovery of the British. In all the history books, as old as 3000 years old, in Tamil, Kannad, Malyalam, Telugu all the people refer to each other as BHO ARYA (Dear Arya) in their conversations. Aryans drove dravidians south is a myth -used to divide and rule. All people of India are of more or less same genetic stock. When a white comes to India, we can not say from where he might be. But a british can idetify a scottish from his face, a scottish can make out an irish, a north irish can tell out a south irish within a sec and so on. And all the kashmiris/muslims (for that matter all Indians) were Hindus/Jains/Budhha/others before 1500 years. The worlds largest ever rule is said to be be from Shrinagar, some 2000BC, stretching from Turkistan to Phillipines. Some say that Islam was spread with force on India, but we must simultaneously accept that there was a lot spotaneous conversion as well. In order to stop this huge wave of voluntary conversion, Gurus from Sikhism worked and the wave stppoed at Punjab. We should not go by narrow thinking, all religions are good and can reach us god. All people are good and any kind of people can peacefully live with any other kind of poeple shaaring and learning. We ordinary people, people having some power in government, politics, social sector, etc should be able to just find out the manipulative goons from all religions whose ultimate end is money at any cost- soul, god, nation, humanity.
