And will you get the funds for increasing the number of univs and colleges?
You are asking the govermnet to spend billions of rupees meant equally by all people in India, only on a particular class.
Doesn't it look like robbing a common fund?

My suggestion is the already "grown up" people of a particular class can invest their money to bring up the remaining poeple of thier class. And I am sure, there are almost same number of "grown up" people in all the classes.

Inter-caste marriages
by usa on Apr 15, 2008 06:06 PM  | Hide replies

India must have reservations till 85% of marriages are inter-caste.

Till then,
Vote for candidates from YOUR caste only.
Do not care if he is corrupt/competent.

Watch the magic...

How do you think people vote NOW?

If there is inter-caste marriage, then it will be difficult to run candidates in elections!

it has been ages of donkey years that this caste based reservation system ,basically a politicalised vote bank policy is ruining the countries talent and the youth. our politicians r taking things for granted cos they sitting in the parliament can pass any resolution ,bill without thinking about the country which has become a joke in the international arena, gone to the dogs because our people r not exercising their rights, Mondal & present apex court judgements go to prove that even the judiciary has also gone to dogs, ough..only god can save this country india.

You said the truth, but in a harsh way.
However, it is only a myth that by providing the "reservations", political parties get votes. If that is the case, Indira Gandhi, who first did the major exercise of extending reservations to a huge level, would not have last to the then Janatha Party....to consider at the central level.
At state level, we see government changing everytime, despite their backward class appeasement policies.
This will continue untill the masses are developed. And this will never happen with the "reservation" mantra.
Only point is that our fools need to analyse this point.

What is the problem?
by Harimau Iyer on Apr 14, 2008 05:53 PM  | Hide replies

Guys,

In India, one set of people have gotten a certification from the Supreme Court that they are brain-dead.

There are people who want to be called brain-dead and the Supreme Court has agreed to their claims that they are indeed brain-dead. Not one OBC thinks that being brain-dead is a condition one cannot be proud of, which merely proves that they are indeed brain-dead.

The OBCs claim that brahmins are superior in intellect by birth and that they OBCs cannot compete against them.

I have no problem with that. This is more than the superiority I was prepared to claim as a brahmin.

Thank you, Supreme Court, for telling me that I am superior in intellect merely by being born a brahmin.

Now, would you please put that in writing just as you put it in writing that the OBCs are brain-dead?

discrimination continues
by Pastor Nanchil on Apr 14, 2008 10:51 AM  | Hide replies

though reservation was provided at IITs for SC and ST, the SC and ST students are discriminated against in the IITs. their admission forms are of a different colour and their answer sheets are also of a different colour. they are given low marks when compared to the forward caste students. the forward caste professors ill-treat and discriminate against the SC ST students.

many SC ST people complained to me that they are not treated well in employment also. they are not given increments and promotions on par with the forward caste people.

so I demand that separate colleges, IITs and IIMs are set up exclusively for SC, ST and OBC candidates. everyone in these colleges must be from the reserved categories only. this is the only way to end discrimination by forward castes.

similarly separate companies must be set up exclusively for SC, ST and OBC candidates. this is the only way to end oppression, harassment and discrimination by upper castes.

An OBC-IIT is a great idea.

At least, overseas universities seeking students for their graduate programs and quality employers will know they don't have to waste time on applications from and campus interviews at the OBC-IIT.

At the same time, I think it is high time the Church in India establishes OBC churches so that Dalits know to avoid them.

Well I dont agree with Mr. Nanchil.
I'm myself a student of IITK for 2 years and I have not found any such discrimination. The administration does not discriminate between students on the basis of caste.
Please do not discourage prospective students from coming to IITs by writing such baseless facts.

In Eraiyur, Tamil Nadu, Dalit Christians have been forced by Vanniyan Christians (the Vanniyans are classified as a Most Backward Caste by the state government) not to use the same roads as the Vanniyan Christians, not to use the same burial yard, etc.

The priests at the local church are complicit in this. When the Archbishop in Chennai intervened and said that the Dalits should be free to use the facilities used by the Vanniyan Christians, the locals refused to accept that order.

Yes, the blood of Jesus is going to save you from sin but not from the sin of being born a Dalit!

Ha ha ha!

MBCs are oppressing Dalits right now. And everyone is complaining that for 3000 years the brahmins did not teach the Vedas and astrology to the Sudras!

All right, Nanchil, enroll in a course in astrology now!

Quotas are justifiable
by Harimau Iyer on Apr 14, 2008 10:17 AM  | Hide replies

by Harimau Iyer on Apr 13, 2008 09:29 AM | Hide replies

In May 2007, the magazine "Science" published a research study that showed that intelligent and analytical ability are inherited.

In India, all castes are endogamous. Thus, intelligence got concentrated among a few groups through successive generations.

Some three thousand years ago, there was some sort of IQ test administered to the population at large and they were all divided into various castes. Just like people in the West bred dogs for specific characteristics (but produced mongrel people), India produced persons with specific characteristics but our dogs are mongrels.

The SC/ST/BC/OBC/MBC bunch, having lost out in the IQ tests earlier are justifiably afraid of taking a competitive examination again now to determine their true worth. Because, after 3000 years of marriage with persons of low IQs, they have become incapable of analytical reasoning. This is why they do not want to ever take a competitive examination.

My suggestion is that the SC/ST/BC/OBC/MBC persons be issued degree certificates along with their birth certificate and caste certificate so they do not have to clog up any educational institution. They can contentedly laze away their time waiting for a government job.

There are people responding to an earlier message saying that in Tamil Nadu, the OBCs are beating the upper castes in the examinations.

Surely then they should not fear taking an entrance examination to determine thei

To continue:

Surely then they should not fear taking an entrance examination to determine their eligibility for admission to professional colleges. Nor should they need quotas in jobs if they graduate with better grades than upper caste students.

They should be able to get it on their merit!

But their grades are obtained the same way Lallu Prasad Yadav's daughter graduated State First in Bihar in the MBBS exams.

OBC Reservation not a fair deal..
by Sicilian on Apr 14, 2008 09:31 AM

Tamilnadu has the highest % of reservation, it has less % of Brahmin , but the caste discrimination is harshest against the dalits.. Giving OBC's the reservation for their undue benefit is bringing the caste system back again..
Those who believe education will eradicate caste, should not believe that, for obvious reasons and statistics.. OBC reservation is a myth and is just a vote bank gimmick.
