Reservations
by A Singh on Apr 13, 2008 01:22 PM  | Hide replies

I am not against reservations. Increase the quota if required. But the politicians should execute a bond that they will only go to 'Reserved'doctors for treatment of their own and their kins.
Does anyonr remember that VP Singh, the great messiah of poor ones, went to UK to get his eyes treated?

Supreme court being arm twisted by UPA governmnet
by Anand Krish on Apr 13, 2008 01:00 PM  | Hide replies

Supreme court has been arm twisted and rendered powerless. It is scared to do the justice and giving way to bizzare interpretaion.

If there is any sense of justice left it should imemdiately remove graduate students and son's of graduated from educationally backward.

How can some one who is born to a graduate or himself a graduate be educationally backward?
This means that there can be no reservation in Post Graduate courses like IIM and AIIMS.

Supreme court are you listening? Dont be scared by these political thugs and do justice and do not give way to abnormal interpretations.

sons and daughters of the so called reserved castes will always remain backward as they have never used the organ called brain.they are either born brain dead more likely or the brain atrophies due to nonusage. The more they use the toilet tissue certificate, inlieu of the brain the more their brain resembles the thing they use.

Reservations not applicable to PG courses
by Anand Krish on Apr 13, 2008 12:42 PM  | Hide replies

When some is a graduate he is no longer educationally backward that means no reservation in Post graduate courses. Similarly if any of the persons parents are graduates he is no longer educationally backward so no reservation either.

This is revolutinary judgement particularly for Tamil Nadu where there 50% reservation for OBC ( PLUS 19% for SC) all PG courses like MBA/MCA/ME courses in TN colleges will be freed up.

Modifying The Reservation System
by A K on Apr 13, 2008 12:05 PM  | Hide replies

The only way in which reservation system in India could help it becoming developed is when it will be truly based on economic background of students & not on their cast or religion. Those
who have scored well in the exams should be given financial support so as they are not rejected just because they can't pay the fees.

The first step towards modifying the reservation system would be making people, who are enjoying [ Are they really? I don't thinks so ] the benefits of reservations, understand how reservations are spoiling their children's future.

If you know, that there's a reserved seat waiting for you, no matter you study well or not, would you, being an average human being, put an extra efforts in studies. No, not at all & this is what is happening to those who are enjoying reservations. Due to this gap, between those who are applicable to reservation & those who are not, is further increasing. As these people who have got reserved seats for education in India, they will not have so on the global platform & private sectors & their they will suffer. This needs to be explained to them by us , as their leaders are engaged only in grabbing votes by misleading them.

Dear Ak,

While I appreciate your sincerity and genuineness in your post, I have to bring out a basic fact which is often not understood properly.

It is not at all easy to get into any good education institution in India even if you have a quota reserved for you. One has to be still ranked at very very high rank to get place even in a reservation list. The competetion is too much that any sloppy candidate from OBC can no way get into the list. One may please refer to the Ranklists published by different RECs and PSC to see it themselves (of course if they are interested in truth).

But, while you need a very high rank to get into a reserved list it requires practically no rank to get into any private eng or medical colleges ( pls check the ranklist of the private institutions) with money power

Now this means that while those pass out from private constitutions can be of poor academic back ground and their passing out is guaranteed by means of their money power, i can tell you that those qualifies to be in a reservation quota is far far more talented than those from the numerous self financing colleges.

But the irony and the travesty of truth is that many foolishly believe ( and happy to believe ) that with the reservation quota in place it will be flooded with incapable people. They cant be wrong more..!

As per the Bhagavad geetha, everything happens for good only.
Many elders say, fever has to come atleast once a year, so that you take caree of the body and it becomes pure.

Now Reservations are growing like mashrooms, without proper meaning.

Soon these beneficiaries fight each other, becomes civil war and ......

Reservations are a fact of life
by Prem Mohan on Apr 13, 2008 11:34 AM  | Hide replies

Reservations are a fact of life in India, that is Bharat. We are going to see more and more demands for reservations. However, there is a small question no one is willing to answer. Has any caste, community, tribe or religious minority in India improved its situation through reservations?

Reservation is not a poverty eradication programme, you moron. It is a question of sharing the resouces of this country fairly and equitably. A small minority of upper castes are being forced to vacate their unlawful possession and that is why people like you are crying in the name of merit and all the useless things.

STUPIDITY OF POLITICIANS !!
by SRINIVAS DJ on Apr 13, 2008 11:13 AM

Even after so many years the reservations are going on , new castes , new sections demanding more and more reservations by prooving that the very purpose of Reservation got failed . Give support for education, not the seats, let every body compete with each other, certainly the best should be recognised. But the politicians do they have sense...??? especially bloody & rotten fellows like ARJUN SINGH ....????
