As BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad was quick to observe the affidavit had been filed by the Union Government's Ministry of Culture, which was under senior Congress leader Ambika Soni(For readers of Rediff who are not aware, Ambika Soni is a staunch Christian and right hand of Italian Madam).
"So far, we thought opposition to Ram Setu was primarily from the Union Minister for Surface Transport and Shipping TR Balu, who represents the DMK in the ruling alliance," he said.
Interestingly, Balu's Ministry had already filed an affidavit in the apex court in connection with the same case on Monday.
But that affidavit confined itself to stating that there was no scientific evidence proving that Ram Setu was a man-made bridge.
The latest affidavit filed by a Ministry under the charge of Congress leader Ambika Soni went beyond this and challenged the historicity of the characters and events in the entire gamut of the Ram pantheon itself.
Now it should be decided once for ever which version of Islam is real Islam. Whether it is Osama bin laden's islam for which all terrorists are fighting and many other muslims are supporting, or it is that islam of some scholars who say that terrorism has no place in Islam.

we dont live in the middle ages. an eye for an eye is not an answer to stopping these crimes. if somebody is willing to lay down his life (even if to kill others), there must be some reason to it. we need to understand that reason, and tackle it. i personally know lots of god fearing muslims who follow their own faith and contribute in their own way to the world.

The logic is no good. Biloins of Muslims in the world read and practice the Holy Quran and they are as peace loving as anyone. It is the invidual who has tobe accountable for his actions. By your logic if someone goes to kill his cousins say the holy Gita has prescribed the same, then the holy book will have to be questioned and that will hold true for holy books of many other relegions, like the Judaism

Your example of Gita is not good, because Gita has no such verse which encourages terrorism. Kuran actually does so. Please cite some examples from Kuran which advocate peace and deny terrorism.

if all the muslim scholars had condemned osama, world could have believed it. But as a matter of fact, he is still hiding in a muslim country and getting funds and support from muslim govts.
One thing is right though, scriptures are interpreted. It is the responsibility of the religious leaders to show people(who turn to them) the right way.
Any religion which teaches terrorism cannot/should not exist in this world. The reason Islam is not labelled a terrorist religion is because there are good Muslims in this world( unfortunately they don't go to Masjid 5 times a day otherwise their voices would also have been heard)

A completely new religion seems to be catching the imagination of many people in Pakistan. Its followers don't, of course, consider it a new religion. Indeed this religion insists that it is Islam, in fact it calls itself true Islam or real Islam. But it can at best be described as Jihadism as its central belief system is based on a wilful misinterpretation of the Islamic concept of Jihad.
