When the Congress won the election, Sonia was expected to be the prime minister of India and she was also so keen to become the PM of india, but when she came out of the Raj bhavan after meeting Abdul Kalam to form government, she dropped her idea of becoming the Prime minister (may be some confidential discussion was happend regarding her origin and our countires security concerns) and made Manmohan as the PM. So, here Abdul Kalam is the constraint for her to become the PM of india.
Thats why she picked Prathiba Patil (innocent and not clever lady) as the Presidential candidate and if prathiba was elected, then there will be no constraint for Sonia to become the Prime minister of India. It is an Italian game.
If Sonia become the Prime minister then we will be under the rule of a foreigner once again after 1947. Then what is the use of the fightings that our grand fathers fought for the freedom of India, it is to kick the foreigner from India from ruling us.
If we allow Sonia to become the Prime minister then what will be answers for the great souls who laid their lives for the freedom struggle and what is gurantee that this lady will not betray us and sell our defence secrets to any foreign countries?
My dear citizens please this is something we need to think, this is not the Presidential election, but this the election through which Sonia will become the Prime minister and think of our freedom struggle, think of our countrie's security, our fame etc.

Samrat, cancelling the idea of becoming a PM was not the result of any discussion. She knew, she was incompetent and incapable to handle the nation as a PM. Giving party speeches is one thing and being a PM is another. The Congress is projecting her as an idol of sacrifice and all are fooled! It is said that 'every person tries to rise to a level of his highest incompetence'. The present party president very well knew her level. She also knew that it is easier to rule India through the party than directly as a PM. And the congress cannot survive without Gandhi/Nehru names. Why on the earth you think Indira Gandhi changed her surname to 'Gandhi' from the earlier surname 'Khan'? Just because, like any other congressman, she could not build her political career without suffixing herself as 'Gandhi' Congress will not remain after this dynastic rule is over.

Mr Deshpande, sonia was very much willing to be the PM, but the Armed forces strongly dis-agreed on her becoming the PM & they also mentioned to her that if shes gonna be the PM, then the army will take the control of the country to have the country saved from these foreigners. HURRAH INDIAN ARMY !!!

Hi Sammy, I do not believe, Indian army would take over the control under any circumstances at all, forget this particular occasion. It is also not in the best interest of any nation where the army takes control. What difference then would be between India and Pakistan? And please remember the drama the congressmen made after Soniaji refused to be the P.M, They wept, called her mother india and what not! Despite that she did not show her willingness. She knew her limitations.

But it is not the Italians or British projecting Sonia as an idol. Its our very Indians (Congress)doing this. Becuz congress feel under the present circumstances, they can unite the party in her name only. First justify yourself what feelings you want to express- an Anti Congress ya Anti -Sonia

Who said that the Italians or the British projecting her as an idol? Did I? Further, it is wrong to say that 'Indians' are doing it. It is only the small cluster called as 'congress' who are doing it. (And this cluster can't survive withoutNehru/Gandhi names.) Don't mistake 'India' for 'congress' India is far far bigger than them which includes many many other parties and lots of people who are not fooled by their propagandas. You said it very correctly that congressmen could unite only in her name. But here I would like to make an apparently small but big meaning correction. You said, 'under the present circumstances' I would like to change it to 'any circumstances' It can be compared to the fact that having got rid of 'hate India' policy, Pakistan would have nothing left of significance in their life. Their very survival is based on hatred about India. Likewise, if the names Nehru/Gandhi leave this party, the party is finished! That is why they even preferred an imported party president to lots of Indian leaders. I think, these are the plain facts and I need not be either anti congress or anti sonia to place these facts my dear.
