Ignorence!
by mahesh muliyala on Jul 13, 2007 12:28 PM

Oh! the American fundemental organisation is suffering from ignorence problem about Hindu religion and its contribution to world.

To be frank same is the case of our own convent educated Hindus!

It is shame on us, with this big population and grate civilisation does not do much for internal education. It is better start now than before loosing every thing.

Ok Agreed with you.
When christians proceed in India against Hindu fundamentalist,I just ask you this:
Why you condemn this protest now done by your religion's fundamentalist organization in US?
In this messages forum, I have not found even a single chrisitian condemning the protests but lots of christians who praised them.

Every person has a right to protest AND a right to practice the religion he believes in. But when it takes different turn leading to violence, torture, or death, THEN THAT should be condemned by ALL.
Religion is a matter of an individual's conscience. In a truly democratic and secular society, a person should have the right to follow what religion HE believes in, not his community's, or his parents', or his country's. If I want to follow the religion of African Pygmies, AND propagate it, then I have EVERY Right to do so. If some people convert to the religion of African Pygmies, because of my preaching, then THEY have EVERY Right to do so, because this is a free and secular country. Likewise, if others dont like us following African Pygmies religon, and PROTEST against that, then they also have EVERY Right to do so, this being a free country with FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND EXPRESSION.
The MOST IMPORTANT THING IS, KEEP YOUR PROTESTS PEACEFUL, like those Americans did. DONT kill, maim, BURN (like Hindus did Graham Stains and his family), torture (Like the Roman Catholic Christians did 400 years back), do acts of terrorism (like some Muslims do today) in religion's name.
Every individual has his freeedom to follow or convert to, or preach any religion he wants. Then see how our country will develop.

His words in a "sermon" the night he was murdered, "If monkey can be a god, I can be a super-god" ... there was a hanuman celebration going on in the same village ... how he was serving the poor?

Let us appreciate American broadmindedness
by Krishna on Jul 13, 2007 12:16 PM

The USA was founded by protestant christians who wanted a country which would open its arms to immigrants who wanted a free and secular place, and where politics and religion are not combined. That's why there are so many immigrants in the USA from diverse countries, who entered USA for many reasons. The Jews to escape persecution from Nazis, Indians like us to earn more money, or to use higher technology etc. The USA has embraced them all and has given them equal opportunities in all fields. Many different religions are practised there without any religious persecution whatsoever. People can convert to 10 religions within 10 days if they want to, as religion is considered a very personal matter, as it rightly is.
This broadmindedness, this ability to embrace all and sundry as one of their own, has made USA, a VERY YOUNG NATION, the superpower of the world.
We Indians have a lot to learn from the USA. Though a secular nation, we still are insecure and immature regarding religious beliefs. We need to understand that religion is a personal matter and should be left to the individual to decide. Why bother what religion our friend or neighbour is following? Why bother if they convert to any other religion if they are not satisfied with the present one? That's purely PERSONAL.
Once our attitude changes to this, then there wont be religious tensions, or insecurites regarding religion. Let us all learn to be broadminded, let us embrace all people as one of our own, let free our n

HINDU SCHOOL OF THOUGHT

4 VEDAS-RIG VED,YAJUR VED,SAAM VED,ATHARAV VED

6 SHASHTRAS

18 PURANAS

108 UPNISHDAS

GITA,RAMAYNA,MAHABHARATA,NARDA BHAKTI SUTRAS,ASHTAVAKRA MAHAGITA, AND NOS OF OTHER RESEARCH WORK BY GREAT SAGES.

WHAT IS THEIR RELEVANCE?

LIKE MODERN SCIENCE ,VEDAS ARE LIKE THEORY OF RELATIVITY WHICH RELATES US WITH THE CELETIAL OBJECTS OR FORCES,SIMMILARLY MANTRAS OF VEDAS CONNECTS US WITH UNIVERSAL CONCIOUS FORCES(DEVTAS).

RAMAYAN AND MAHABHARATA IS LIKE NEWTONIAN MECHANICS WHICH IS APPLICABLE IN DAILY LIFE.

UPNISHDAS ARE LIKE QUANTUM MECHANICH WHICH DEALS AT THE SUB ATOMIC LEVEL,SIMMILARLY UPNISHADAS TAKE US TO THE DEPTHS OF ATAMA AND REVEALS ITS SECRETS.

THEY ARE ALSO THE RESEARCH WORK ON DIFFERENT SUBJECTS LIKE MODERN DOCTORATE.further research is required,if you have any information please share.welcome.

humanism is best...
by humanist on Jul 13, 2007 12:07 PM

Now its time to ignore religions and stop taking sides on ideologies like capatilism, communism and all such ideocracies.

Let humans recognise fellow HUMANS FIRST. Let us save the environment where we live first. Then we sure will be the best of civilisations to ever exist... It will also take care of terrosim.

Who told hindu or Indians are not violent. How can we forget all those Kalingas we fought. Dosent our kings fight violent wars between each other? Dosent our kings did violence when we attached other countries in South East Asia up to Indonesia.

Violence was a part of life at that time, poeple were used to it, people were less civilised at that time.

And no doubt christianity and buddism played an important role in world to make peace.

From where Gandhiji got idea of peace, love and ahimsa. How he showed his other cheek when he was beaten up. He was thought to be a good reader of all religous books including that of hindus and christians. He took value from both.

Its time for change and its getting late. Or world countries will clash without idea why they are on war...

HINDUISM
by vipankumar dogra on Jul 13, 2007 12:04 PM

Life is composed of two type of matter, living and non living.
If present day science is investigation and research work on non living matter,Hinduism philosophy is investigation and research work on living matter.
It is not a coincidence that science talks about atom and Hinduism talks about atam.
Have you ever noticed the similarities among structure of an atom, solar system and shivalinga.even the human body%u2019s cell has the same form.
These are the symbolic representation of the realities.if science see the world in parts and reaches at atom,Hinduism see%u2019s the reality in total and reaches at parmatam. If science talks about proton, neutron and electron,Hinduism talks about brhma.vishnu and Mahesh.
The creation of brahma from the navel of vishu is modern beeta decay process of science.the further research on fundamental particals yields similar results as described in hindu research ony names are different.
As science is not only theory,it tries to make layman%u2019s life comfortable by inventing tools, similarly Hinduism also developed tools as idols to make GOD%u2019S power practical.

Plz Learn/Know about HINDUISM before critisising it.
by GShanker S on Jul 13, 2007 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

There is lot of misunderstanding and false impressions on Hinduism. I request people to learn/know about Hinduism before criticizing it.

Hinduism is not a just religion, it is actually a way of living. Hinduism gives best answers for the all questions about the living, humanity and all other spiritual questions. Hinduism have the best philosophy in the world and have contributed uncountable things to the world from its beginning.

People fail to understand that even their neighbors garden will have beautiful flowers.

Hinduism respects all other religions and their spiritual practices. Criticism should be truthful, Perfect and Logic. I see that these criticisms does not have any of these qualities.

I just see an adamant spirituality of their own and blind view over the other religions. They even failed in their own religion and disrespected it.

b) Get the Muslim High - Priest for passing Minority Bill

c) Request the Sikh High - Priest for banning all Religious Outfits that do not lick the Congress.
