I'm a Punjabi from Background and in any manner not a bit supporter of CPM/CPI, as far as ur contradiction to the moderen India (read IT/Bio-Tech/CAD-CAM) is concerned, Our Leftist has not learn any thing from the Past. How else can you say that they are the one who take the needy things to the grass root level in the far reaching areas of our vast Motherland.
China for that Matter has endorsed the new technology and is now the Manufacturing Hub for the whole world. USSR is a failed concept today and even Russia has accepted the Democratic values. We live in a practical world where every thing has to be seen essentially in the Pragmatic way. U can't reach to every body in the nation to have food for them, but yes u can creat resources in the nation that every body gets some benifts right upto the grass root level.

It seems that writer's views are totally biased. What you all have imagined might be true but you forgot the list of positive side of Marxist's approach. Lets not forget out of more than 500 MPs in parliament, 25% of them have criminal backgroud except left parties. Only left parties have plan for social justice. Other parties are just doing their own good. When you talk about no mobile phones, IT and other industries. Yes, all these things have changed the life of big cities only. What about poor people still waiting for basic facilities to be provided by the government in rural areas. Here is all the difference.
