Marxist Prime Minister??
by TV Kumar on Mar 27, 2006 08:36 PM

Mr Ganguli has tried to malign the already much maligned - sometimes called out of date - Political Party of India of present times. Nothing unusual for that matter! All well meaning "citizens of India - despite endorsing different ideologies - used to admire at least their sincere cadre. The only exception to it was the well-acknowledged RSS cadre, which seldom compromised with integrity and their political wing - Jan Sangh and later avtar BJP stood the ground even better till a decade or 2 back. Indrajit Gupta was the Home Minister in a BJP backed Government not long ago and things had gone fairly well for the tenure of that Khichri Government. And when some journalists including perhaps of Rediff had been in the last month or so, crying 'horse' that Emergency (1975) like situation was developing, wasnt it the LEFTIST group which had checked it and had they, for whatever reasons, encouraged, the present regime might have tried the option if not gone thru it. Marxists were as much 'tortured' as the present top brass of Indian Polity from all diversified identities on date changing ideology, morals and what else not? Relax Mr Ganguli & wait till coming Assembly Dramas. ANALYST

Amulya forgot to tell that there would be no india if we had a marxist prime minister(Let's pray to God that this Should not happen till pralaya :) )-The first thing that that person will do is to go to China and ask them to take over this country under their progressive regime ).
example is -modern west bengal-no one thier knows about Bengali or Indian culture, their heroes, anythimg good about country, religion etc etc...even the most educated there are practically living as if in China

RE: If India had a Marxist PM

I think it is a very ill thought of article...

1. If India were to have a Marxist PM, it would have been Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, not some prematurely greyed Malayali who never contested elections, apart from in JNU maybe.

2. If 1. were to be true, the foreign policy might have been different but there would definitely have been more employment, which is the requirement of the moment, not a wide Lorenz curve as it is today.

3. All said and done, the so called socialist regime(s) till 1992 has left India in a much better place, with the Indian companies being able to compete with the MNCs.

4. We do not need to vote against Iran under US pressure... We would be better off having an independent foreign policy, unlike the one we have today.

5. With a Marxist PM, India would have a better political relation with China (hopefully), and therefore the Pak importance would automatically reduce, and therefore leading to lower GDP spend on defense, and therefore leading to overall upliftment of the social structure.

6. How many Marxist leaders have been caught in these sting operations, unlike other parties ???

Pot calling the kettle black?

Ive read a few articles by this chap Amulya Ganguly, hes no less marxist than them.
He is also a P-Sec. His writings are often anti-Hindu. Surprised that a P-sec wrote against another breed of P-secs!

Save us from commies
by Himadri Sekhar Roy on Mar 19, 2006 02:48 PM

The columnist has painted a very rosy picture. We might have the CBI snooping on every phone you make and checking every birthday card you send. People might get whisked away for questionning and never found again. And off course we won't be reading this article because there won't be any internet and people wont be having computers.
