I wouldn't rush have a funeral for the Indian Marxists as yet; there are still stupid, naieve and unrepentent millions,the true believers, who still toe the Marxist line, their utopian world at hand, if only thier nemesis, the 'communal forces' can be destroyed, they will vault into power and redeem India from the clutches of that most evil of evils, capitalism, and that 'Great Satan' Uncle Sam. Yessir, if they can just hold on some more, and with the help of their like-minded comrades like Kim 2, Chavez, Castro et al, they can take over and make the world once more safe for communism - what heroes! Go and see the places where Marxists are ruling and see the financial equalities among the natives. They may not support tatas,birlas,ambanis and other individuals to accumulate wealth. Thats true .
To put in other way, Indians are very reluctant to changes and they are orthodox. The popoulation in india is dragging us behind. Rich is becoming rich and poor is becoming poorer. Education system is becoming a matter of business. Check out the wealth devide between urban and Rural and see how the new economic reforms are dividing the people.
Instead of blaming the left, first blame the octogenarial indian politicians who dont want to change and blame it on the the govt who ruled india since independence.

I wish these communist should realize that following bookish principles will not help. In the changed world we can achieve development by adopting to the neocapitalist approach which gives equal opportunity to all in wealth generation. Mocking the USSR will prove no intelligence especially when we know that its no more a super power.And present day Russia is not a Communist nation!!Today China is a front runner in the development because it allowed the FDI's way back in 70's. I hope these so called "pro-poor" communist realise that poverty alleviation can not be achieved by lobbying and bullying the poor, but by providing enough opportunities and good infrastructure.
