Arundhati Roy is full of crap
by Vaibhav on Dec 13, 2006 06:06 AM

Arundhati Roy is one of those who are full of crap.. Crap and only crap.. Where was she when the accused was held guilty by lower courts.. Where was she when the case was under consideration in Supreme Court. Now when everything is done, she is coming up with this Bull S**t of hers..

Some people are taking undue advantage of freedom given to us by our constitution. Whether be it leftists( they also have nothing to do except raising hue and cry and pushing country back in past) or some so called intellects( who in fact are most stupid of all) like Arundhati Roy.

Never have i read her name in some cause which is non controversial. People like her have this cheap habit of encashing things for their good... even when they know in the depth of heart that they are not doing any good to anyone..

May god give some sense to such people..

Who wants Afzal retried???
by sudhiranjan saha on Dec 13, 2006 05:32 AM

Arundhati
I respected you as a writer till this time. With this statement everything changes. Afzal..I have heard him a lot many times than I have remembered God. A terrorist deserves a trail and a re-trial?? Why? What if your husband, brother, father or son was shot by him and people like him? Or what if you had been crippled for life by his bullet though he did not even know you??
Only in our country we can claim trails and re-trails for him even after 12 years. And people like you promote people like him to commit the crimes and still seek reprieve.
If there was any justice, the police should have shot him long ago and not wasted public money because we the common people bear the expenditure.

All I can say is Omar, you are desperately in a minority. And obviously, you can't be the only right person in this all debate (obviously alongwith Madam Arundhati)!! Its been 50 years since we have been governing ourselves and you believe that this is the only case of mistrial, or that this is surely a case of mistrial? Lets get two and two right man.. Stop haggling over such petty criminals like Afzal. Let him die the death he deserves, or atleast what most common and the Supreme think. In his case, the Supreme Court, arguably the most intelligent institution in this country yet and the masses are thinking alike..Take a bow..

India is an unfortunate country
by Amit Jain on Dec 13, 2006 04:53 AM

In my opinion, Arundhati roy is basically stating that the Indian Justice system did not do it's job properly the first time. India is really unfortunate to have such people as it's citizens who do not like our values, culture and also our democratic institutions but we can not try them in court of law. Somehow our constitution needs to be amended so that we no longer are a democracy. If these people do not like our democracy, may be they will like it when they will live like the citizens of China and now even US (ask people how they feel about Patriot act) - in the fear of government. That seems to be the only hope for India now ...

Does it make sense? or need more popularity?
by Suresh Vijayan on Dec 13, 2006 04:46 AM

Its so awkward people of Indian origin, indirectly hit our Apex court of wrong judgement? does it mean you want to sell your books and make money, rather than a ruling given by apex court? retrial of am apex court judgement? Ridiculous. I think Ms. Roy trying to make mileage with this issue and rediff wasting time and peoples time with note of her's.

I once used to admire Ms. Roy, but regret for being so...

Sinner cover sin!

she is not so precise
by harihar gangadhar bharat on Dec 13, 2006 04:35 AM

I find Roy correct and incorrect both. Here Quickest way for her could be to join army and serve in kashmir for a year. she will know what is what.

Judgement has been delivered, though if it looks pre-canned, but not is wrong from the core perspective.

Arundhati Roys plea on Afzal
by Esskay on Dec 13, 2006 04:28 AM

She is completely nuts. Why is she not speaking of all the innocent soldiers killed by terrorists. What about the thousands of Kashmiri Pandits displaced: what about their human rights?

People like her play straight into the hands of the enemy by saying social circumstances in india at the time led to the parliament attack.

It is a ridiculous misuse of freedom of speech.
