Youth can change India !
by Kollengode on Aug 24, 2006 09:21 PM

It is great article about Justice Iyer. I was somewhat disappointed that he did not mention the great service being done in the medical field, educational field, drinking water projects, social service etc , with special emphasis on youth, by Sai Baba. All services are done free of cost to all irespective of caste, creed, or religion. The students coming out of his school no doubt be ideal leaders of tomarrow. This is a revolution about which not too many people are aware of.

i definitely think that teh youth of today are highly empowered and can make a difference. Teh youth must hack into these malign systems of the country and clean them. Why leave the system to stagnate?? its our own future at stake and we muct not shy away from the truth.teh route of escapism will lead us to more shit...

Is there a hope?
by Chakravarthy on Aug 23, 2006 01:40 PM

I am a person, who is always positive and was always hopeful that the future of India is going to be different.....but at the same time I see so many things going totally wrong and often make me loose hope.
The best thing about our country is the constitution. We are a Democratic, Sovereign, Socialist and Secular Republic. But every word described above is being targeted, not from outsiders, but by enemies within the country- the corrupt, power thirsty politicians. Take one example of Secular- after 60 years of Independence, we are to do away with the caste system. The leaders of the country have done nothing all these years to alleviate poverty and help the downtrodden. But they want to keep the caste system and religious disharmony alive, so that they can take political mileage. They are not shying away to increase the quota system, even if it means manipulating the constitution and taking away one of the basic fundamental rights- Right to Equality. The poor and innocent sections of our country dont realise that they are not trying help them, but keep them alienated forever. Union minister feels Vande Mataram- need not be respected. Heard about fundamental duties?

Do you think you will be able to keep all that property. No.. There will a civil war. The poor people need house too. And hence all the propery u r so meticulously investing into will be gone.
When our kid is borned, we feel so elated, so excited. When he is injected with a DTP injection, he cries, and so do we. But think about the future, 25 years from now. He will have to face an anarchic society. For how long you will be able to protect him ???
It's time for action guys. If you really feel we need to do something, then write a mail to me. We will form a group, will chalk out a plan. But remember, it's a slow process. If we start now, then we will be able to achieve something in next 10 years. But that will be an achivement in itself. You never know what future holds for you. You may be the chosen one. And then we have to grow our kids in such a way, that when we pass the baton to them, they take it with pride and belief in us.

It can be done. Let's do it. There are so many ideas to share with you. Let's make a beginning.

Hi,
I read all your messages. Valid points made. But do you think, talking alone will achieve anything. Corrupt politicians, corrupt Bureaucracy..Everybody from top to down are corrupt. They are buying property, locking tons of money in Bank, investing tons of money in share market, mutual funds, insurance(bad aspect of unplanned liberalization). And god knows what else. A class-mate of mine from the engineering college is a JE in the telecom dept. of a POST office. He couldn't get job elsewhere, but got a junior engineer job through bribes. He makes 10-20 lakhs every year. Imaging, there will be other JEs and then senior officers. Work up to the top, and your heart will cry. It is just a post office. India is a vast country, and if you do the arithmatic, the money will just run into billions and billions.

I'm from IT industry. We are getting good money. My colleauges and the other people i know
from IT industry are going mad about real state.
They are buying property like anything as if they have nothing else to do. Giving blood once in a year to red-cross don't make us great. Imagine india's population in another 25 years. -Continued

It is a very nice article. Daily I am reading rediff.com and some other papers. Some time I feel what I am doing for my country. It looks like we (Young Generation) are all running behind the money and once we reach the stage we will be the old persons. We are all doing some kind of charities but I don't know whether is that sufficient or do we need to more?? Even for charity if we see some movies it scares me will that money utilized/utilizing properly?
Please suggest us what we can do?

Regards,
Naveen
