Its SAD!!

that in a country where Hindus constitutes more than 80 pc,there s always an attempt to show HINDUS in poor light. I am not judging this article is wrong or right BUT only fact is that whenever theres any issue related to Muslims, its branded as Secular & whenver related to Hindus , its communal..Whta Hypocrite. The graduates from JNU(Communist Background) are the seeds for branding Hindutva equal to Terrorism. Its shocking to read in paper & articles to synonym Hindutva as a Terrorism word. There shud b always a discussion BUT please bear it in mind that If defending Hindus are communal (Phsedo-secularism) then embracing Muslim is communal too. You Writers go as far as Branding Terrorists as victims ( remember Ahmedabad shoot out case)if they are Muslims & Victims as Terrorists if they are Hindu.. Come on Sheela Ji..give us a Break. If you want to do something concrete then please write abt Laluji whose state's ppl now feel ashamed to even call themselves as Biharis ( Whta Mess of state). Being Gujrati is still a Proud feeling.

Shrewd Politician
by Sunil Bohra on Jan 13, 2005 05:56 PM

Mr. Narendra Modi is a very shrewd kind of a politician. who knows when and what to do. He has demonstrated in 2002 as to his effectiveness and maturity in politics by sweeping across the entire Gujarat elections and now when the time is to perform on the promises made, he is trying to do his best and is leading the country by example, thru his project "Vibrant Gujarat". To achieve his ambitious goals, he has laid down good infrastructure by good roads, connecting rivers (which once used to be seasonally DRY). The growth rate of 15% is really commendable and also his future plans are achievable, if it gets good support from party within and from Central Government. Overall, all efforts of Mr. Modi deserves a standing ovation and compliments.

Aditi
Gujarat & Modi
by Aditi on Jan 13, 2005 05:00 PM

Sheela Bhatt looks at India through Modi's Gujarat. The rest of India is politically the as Gujarat - no difference except in parties and characters, corruption or hype. The difference is in the level of development and the involvement of people in furthering this process. Right from the success of the Amul experiment to the creation of 2 lac water harvesting structures, the people of Gujarat have always led from the front; they were the first from any state to offer services to the tsunami-hit states. That they have chosen Modi to lead them and he is doing a good job should be appreciated. Public reaction is unpredictable ; its better not to speculate on what will happen to Modi in the future as long he is doing his job right and the figures say he is on the right track. The Gujarat riots were no different than what has happened in India earlier including the anti-riots and so, please, let sleeping dogs lie ! Just follow the Gujarat example of development and every state will prosper.
