pointless rant..
by shapras on Feb 18, 2005 07:27 AM

What started as a writeup on Sania, ended up as a tearful eulogy to the Muslim community. I think in Praful's world view, he is the only one that cares for Muslims and recognizes their achievements.

Let her be a World Class Player
by JET on Feb 17, 2005 08:34 PM

Muslim or Hindu Sports in India Sucks big time.

It is sad in a country of 1 billion you get a title only in your hometown.

She just won only Hyderabad open, that too in her very own backyard.

Let her come to Chennai and Mumbai and win some.

But only when she gets a significant Grand Slam title
she is worthy to be mentioned and compared to the likes of P.T.Usha (one reason she went to the final's of the olympics and came a close 4th to FLORENCE GRIFFITH JOYENER in the finals.)

Until then it is better to keep quiet about her achievements in Hyderabad and chennai.

I love very much sport, I like to see game of Sarina Mirza, She has reached at a good position and hope she would be peeking up her destination point and fulfill her parents trust, no doubt about it. Yes one more for her i.e she always focus on her destination point, never goes towards Politics/Film industries. It is time for her to achieve & fill up her career.

Bye .. always be +ve, it my wishes for her.

in our country, religion is a barrier for individual's progress. in a free society, under proper supervision and guiedance, anybody can achieve wonders.there is nothing which is beyond human reach. only our own imposed social constraints hamper progress.

Not understanding one's religion (especially those who call their religion Hinduism for getting all kinds of privileges and criticising its tenets blindly) is the real barrier to individual's progress. Sania Mirza, despite appearing to be modern, is a devout Muslim and understands her religion well. Needless to say, she is bound to progress in her Sports career.

About Sania Mirza, not Hindus and Muslims
by kishan on Feb 17, 2005 05:23 AM

Mr.Praful Bidwai should be talking about Sania Mirza's abilities and achievments. He should not be talking about how BJP thinks or any other hindus think about muslim. This about sports and not about politics or politicians. That is all together a different issue and topic for another day. I am sorry to say that i am totally dissapointed when he talks about BJP, which has elected a president of Muslim origin to lead the country.
