The article overly exaggerates the elections verdict in the favour if Sonia and Congress. The congres did not get complete victory and many seats it won were purely on the basis of Anti incumbency against state govts in Andhra and Tamilnadu etc.
The srticle seams to be praising the dynastic politics in the contry. Out of 543 constutuencies 300 constituencies were mainly contested by dynasties of some kind. Out of these 300 contestents 280 belong to Congress and its allies. I dont know where it all is leading to in future.
One more thing, there is nothing like Indian Citizen ship in constitution, The Indian citizenship to a foreigner purely depends upon the the kind of rules apply to an Indian in respective nation of the origin of the foreigner. In Italy no foriegn born person can become Prime Minister. And if foreign born Indian still has some kind of wealth in his home country, can not be considered as full Indian Citizen. These rules are known to Sonia ans so she is opted out, please dont compare her to Mahatma and other great Hindu Souls and display ur so called pseudo secularist ideology.

Is there any country in the world where a non-natural citizen could be the leader of the country, specially of such a complicated one as ours. With all due respect to Ms Sonia Gandhi, I think it would have been a disaster for the country if she had become the PM. Vajpayee govt has done a lot for the country, more that what had happened in the last 50 years, people do not realize it because the cant see everything. He has been busy filling the hollows created by Mean politicians over the years. It takes time to fill deep wounds..
Dr. Manmohan Singh is a highly respected person, he is partly responsible for the strong India we have today, I just hope he is able to work for the beterment of the 1 billion people of the country and not those 18 odd parties.

the way sonia gandhi has been brought in congress as she was the only person who can gain power for congress, reason congress couldnot survive wothout power. is she is more experienced?is she more educated? no. during last 50 years congress man have eat up a big share from indian's pockets. now after 50 years in power they say we will remove poverty and will generate jobs.shame-shame.

Sonia has proved to be shrewed person in not taking the post of PM. In selecting M.singh, she knows he is not power thirsty and can handle him from a distance. In my opinion the move is forrunner to ultimately up grade Rahul as PM IN WAITING.
