India Shining.
by ks rajan on Jan 28, 2004 04:02 PM

This creation of BJP propagated mostly by the Media is totally wrong and not in conformation with facts. Millions of Youths are unemployed. The roads the PM makes is only for using the affluent class. More 80% of indians are one way or other begging. The feel good factor is only for 3% people. My brother who was employed in a MNC lost his job and he is struggling with two school going children at the age of 17 and 12. Is India shining. Is there any social security like Europe or US. What is the use of 100 billion dollar Forex reserve. This is only for catering the Politicians. What has earned by the Common under BJP and their claim of India shining.

Friends,
Rediff.com is becoming more and more SAFFRON and biased!!! Why dont these writers write some thing even and not biased! BJP happens to be a wrong party at the right place and at the right time.It is eating the fruits of labour of Sri Narasimha Rao and Sri Manmohan Singh. Some one lays the foundation and at a later date some one else paints the house and show case it to the world.Another question: If BJP were to assume power soon after the independance what would they have done? Make India Shine in 5 years? Achieve what Congress has not achieved in 50 years? Manage 5000 years of social malady and incohesiveness in 5 years.Come one...Let us be more rational,,,Times are changing and the incumbent goverment too have to change.Who saw India's tremendous IT potential? Was it BJP or Sam Pitroda? Was there any IT revolution as late as 1992-96? Did BJP have build any big irrigation projects in 1999-2004? Did they have any big Public enterprise to build? Are they not minting huge money by selling public enterprises? What are they using that money for? Where is it going? Who is paying for Golden Quadrilateral? By way of Cess on petrol and Diesel? The money coming from central kitty?

I agree Sir...
by Mahesh on Jan 28, 2004 02:24 PM

I agree with the author. It is absolutely disgusting to say the least, that these leeches of the Indian democracy cannot see the 'Visible' difference the BJP has brought about in this country. It is shocking that they can actually condemn this as 'fail good' when there is an obvious enthusiasm and confidence around.
I hope the Indian electorate says 'Who cares' to these bunch of losers and focuses on progress and a party which will take them on that path.

India shining is not real issue

Sir,
Swapan Dasgupta's comments on the WSF smacks of a higly prejudiced and hypocritical mind. He speaks as a mouthpiece of the Sangh Parivar and a stooge of the American multinationals. I seriously doubt whether this man did attend the WSF. If he did and still has such venomous opinion about this historic meet, he must be really sick and needs to see a doctor. Former president K.R.Narayanan described WSF as a historic initiative of the oppressed peoples all over the world. People like Swapan Dasgupta must know what is oppression in order to appreciate a meet like the WSF.

Stop your Moonshining Propaganda !!!!!!!!
by Gauzbig on Jan 28, 2004 12:54 PM

The tools and rhetoric of Dasgupta are not one of intellectual enquiry, they are of biased propaganda!

India is on the right track. It ALWAYS was on the right track since it gained Independence in 1947!!Come on ,be proud of it !!!

Offourse there's constant course correction, a sign of visionary leadership. That we have not been entirely successful removing poverty shows that we need experienced hands to deal with this matter (not NGO's or the specialist in distributing largesse - Jaswant Singh).

In the difficult days of 1990 the courage and vision of Narsimha Rao and Manmohan Singh took us irrevocably into hitherto unchartered waters. Their wisdom, foresight and patriotic action has been vindicated by the fact that motely groups constituting NDA (despite fringe elements like Swadeshi Jagran Manch and their acolytes like MM Joshi , Ram Naik in the NDA government) dare not undo this irrevocable course despite the special interest groups they represent.

India today needs Manmohan Singh to chart the fiscal course and most of all communal amity - which is anathema to the BJP !! Red herrings like dynastic rule and foreign origins will never succeed with the toiling masses !!

feel good..
by saravan on Jan 28, 2004 12:14 PM

Dear Swapan,

Excellent analysis, we just have to hit the highways to feel good. Golden quadrilateral itself feels so good to drive. These people will always want India to be a poor nation so that they can secure their vote banks.

Jai Hind!
