She wants to start life afresh

Its a shame on us. What is the government doing? Has there been any progress in the investigation of the case. Unfortunately and as usual...None.

India houses the World renowned CCMB and DNA finger printing labs. What are they for if not for investigation.

it's in our hands

Her optimism and courage is as remarkable and praiseworthy, as is the apathy in our country disgusting. While there are numerous wonderful things in our country, we continue to dig deeper holes for ourselves. Politicians make committments, and then never show up. "Jaisi praja, waisa raja" - people get the leaders that they deserve. I myself left the country to come to the USA, and I continue to hope (dream) that I have the guts to return and try to contribute, and bring positive change, like some of my braver peers do at home.

Concernindia.org is helping this nurse through their NGO- PRATIDHI and urhently needs funds just not for this case but for intensified social work such that abuse of this kind can be either prevented or curated with monetary, medical, physcological, legal and vocational rehabilitation work. Pls write to concernindia.org at New Delhi who has ensured good care for the nurse.

Sorry for the incident.
by Naresh Kumar on Sep 30, 2003 10:33 PM

I feel ashamed to read such a barbaric act.

No punishment less than death can cure our country of such heinous act.

If I can be of any help I will try my best.

May God help her in this hour of grief.
