Savarkar cannot be a role model
by Vinay Bhutani on Mar 27, 2003 09:33 PM

If Savarkar cannot be role model people like Bipin Chandra who has been writing rubbish articles should be role models .Painful is to see rediff giving them coverage also.

Savarkar was a visionary, a great freedom fighter,a great poet , only person to have got 2 life sentences. He was and is inspiration to so many people in India.

Rediff - please don't publish or take interviews from people like Bipin Chandra who are muddlehead/cranked

Why doesn't rediff, with all its resources find out what the truth is, without any bias from the political parties.

This will help people know who exactly Veer Savarkar was and what he did for the nation.

My Opinion on ''Savarkar cannot be a role model'' as stated by Sri Bipan Chandra
by Narayana on Mar 21, 2003 05:38 PM

The explanation by historian Professor Bipan Chandra on "Savarkar cannot be a role model" and the answers to questions, were all simply distortion. It shows the short sightedness of the Professor, especially when the subject is about religion. This person cannot be called a professor when he does not consider Savarkar as a role model.
It has become a fashion, in our country, of the intellectual people to criticise the heritage and culture of the country and term it as hindu terrorism. Actually, these people are, known as intellectuals, who got themselves involved in all types of anti national activites, should be termed as terrorists. This type of attitude should go. They should confirm each and every word before it comes out of their mouth.

Right to know the truth

You can educate through writing. Political parties should undertake this task but they are afraid of losing elections. This kind of narrow parochialism is highly undesirable. It is the job of the media and intellectuals to oppose it. Unfortunately, the press too caters to it.

This is so true. Aren't we denied of the truth. And the irony is that his potriat is beside the greatest Indian.
