What third grade historian is rediff refering to? this man must be living the fruits of modern india that have been borne out of the struggle of these great men. and talk about the nehru- gandhi family. they never faced the brunt of freedom struggle and must have apologized to the english 100's of times whenever things went arwy in india. rediff should stop writing over this subject after this.it has not authority to.

Its really confusing when we talk history in India ..as it always takes stand ...reading this article I again find Mr Bipin chandra taking a "Stand". I have read his ideas on freedom struggle and its really sad seeing a scoholar taking a stupid pro-congress stand and trying hopelessly to make readres believe that congress was the only party with few helpers here and there responsible for giving us freedom.Where as again the real story still lies unheard.Again On Sarvarkar this attitude surfaces. Why cant History remain aloof from political baises??
A very enlightening account of the achievements of the honourable Bipan Chandra can be found in the book "Eminent Historians" by one of the greatest living Indians - Arun Shourie (Minister of disinvestment, etc., in central government). People like Bipan Chandra should be exiled to Pakiland.
It is obvious that the author has engaged in cheap 'bashing' to get himself heard. It is fashionable in this country to say against the Hindu's but no one has the courage to say anything adverse about other communities. One is then 'branded' as a communanlist or 'anti secular'. There are good and bad people everywhere and it requires maturity to identify the good and the bad.
