Police should check that the former minister kept elephant & other animals only after legal permits etc, even though being a former forest minister this was not difficult. & also enquiry into why police killed the elephant. This authority of deciding to kill an endangered spicies animal out of control should be only with the wild life deptt. & police can only use tranquilizers.
Very sorry to hear this news.However,I have one strong point to make.What business do we people have to keep animals with us when they are supposed to be in forests.Its high time that a legislation be brought about banning the practice of getting animals like elephants away from their natural habitats.My sympathies are more with these animals.As regards the above incident,why was'nt the elephant tranquilised??
