Unfortunately you have missed names like Madhu Bala, Vaijayanthi Mala, Lakshmi, Nirupa Roy and Mumtaj.
Mumtaj is definitely outstanding, rising from the rank of extra to superstar status is something unheard in Hindi cinema. Lakshmi was truly multilingual and highly talented. Vaijayanthi Mala was known for her outstanding expressions. Madhu Bala was the dream girl.

The list is for best actresses of all time, not for best heroines.I think u have heard of greater bengali actresses like Madhavi and Sabitri.....Although I feel the list is biased towards the hindi circle, but Suchitra Sen's exclustion from the list is justified.
Rediff,Sridevi should have been on the first two places at the the top 10,its so stupid that you have included nandita das,ok she is a good actress,but she has hardly done a handful of movies ,how can she be featured here ,when a superstar ,like Sridevi is omitted is something i fail to understand,Nandita herself cannot do half of what Sridevi can.This list is downrigt stupid its more like one individuals opinion....

yes nobody is as complete as Madhuri, the most complete actress of 100 years said by great Ashok Kumar long ago. But I like the list very much. All of them are wholesome and individually good.

Madhuri was never great in comedy,she was a good dancer,and a good actress,but Sridevi was an all rounder,we from the south have seen her great performances in Movies like Moondram Pirai(sadma),Meendum Kokila,Jhonny,were she was a superstar,giving intense performances for acclaimed directors like Bharathi raja,Balachander,Balu mahendra,Mahendran,she went to telegu and remained No.1 there proving her versatility in dancing and acting in comedy oriented roles,and finally she stepped into Bollywood to remain a superstar for more than a decade acting in great movies .Sridevi is more than 300 films old and was a superstar in the south during her time and also top in Bollywood,give me one heroine who has achieved her sucees rate and versatality.Madhuri was only a star in Bollywood she never did movies in the south and she is yet to do some class movies especially arthouse

Mr Pradeep Menon... go and watch Khel... if you understand Hindi... I guess you wound not have understood her comedy as you dont know Hindi... so learn Hindi first and then comment on Madhuri's comedy...

Kapil,Sridevi played better roles and gave betetr performances in many more movies than Madhuri.Sridevi was the main protagonist in SADMA,NAGINA,LAADLA,LAMHE,CHANDNI,JUDAAI,ARMY and many more
