You are very right Makki, It is very difficult for a person to make another laugh. And especially for women. Uma ie., Tun Tun did it effortlessly and spontaneously. She was a great actress and she possessed a sweet voice. Naushad had in fact chosen her as a play back singer and utilised her as a singer.
Vyjayanthi is conspicuous by her absence in the list. How can anyone forget her roles and performances in Madhumati, Sadhana and Naya Daur? And what about Ganga Jumna? How can anyone forget her graceful dances? Vyjayanthi reminds me of grace, charm and decency in film acting. BR Chopra and Bimal Roy exploited her talents. She even relegated Dilip Kumar to the background in Madhumati. Fortunately, she is still there teaching Bharathanatyam even though the cruel world has not given her due.

I loved Dilip's better acting in "Daag" than in Devadas. Amiya Chakravorty got the best out of Dilip. As for Vyjayanthi, she accepted challenging roles affecting her image even in Fifties. Her adaptability to North Indian movies was remarkable indeed. I can't forget the exchange of love conversation between her and Dilip using the horse as the medium in Naya Daur and also the expressions of love by her in the song "Dil tadap tadap" nor can I forget her expressions in the last scene in "Sadhana" when Leela Chitnis accepts Vyjayanthi as her Bahu.
