Whats in the movie ? firstly whats the intention of this story to people ? how this name is picked ? whats the end message we need to draw here ?
Amir, We expect film from you not a timepass from your movie. every movie i see of yours never my mind said 3hours waste, but this one is real complete 3hours waste, 100% Waste. our reviews are to say you what we expect from you, just because i am your fan i wont accept whatever you present. I expect only best from you.
Mr Sen's review is clearly biased or the guy was having a bad day. I am not an Amir Khan fan, but is it possible that his English accent/delivery was fitting for THAT character? And Monica's accent "got on his nerves"??? She is supposed to be from NYC. Did he want her to sound like Amir Khan?

I agree with every word written in the review except that I found the performance of Kriti Malhotra, who writes a video letter to her brother was also quite extraordinary. Well she had to die a death after encountering the lows of life, didn't she? So I think (like Raja puts it) her death wasn't limpid, it does leave an impact. On the whole a good movie, I liked it, but there is a question mark if the masses would like it, entertainment starved as they are? Not better than Peepli Live by any count? The irritating part was missed by Raja, at least in the print that we saw, the initial dialogues seemed dubbed very terribly. I thought the characters spoke in English but their dialogues were dubbed in Hindi. That was quite horrible and almost ruined our experience of watching the film. I hope the film does well, does not deserve to be a flop, though one can't predict the mood of the audience.
It's a good movie. It is just reading of few pages of a old diary.Kiran Rao's attempt to give a plain, clean film for the movie lovers has not failed. We read, write ,paint and sing go to the movie for relaxation and not to spend some time.We have purpose in seeing a movie. This film is not bad,not commercial, not reserved for the limited audience. It is just like mellowing fresh pastry. The taste remains, till it is shadowed with another goody.Though the Dobhi ghat is not figured much, film is named by Dhobi ghat,it should have named as mumbai Diary.

Then it should be done by Rahul bose, nasiruddin shah, om puri or others not by Aamir Khan. Why they want to project an art film like a commercial cinema just to fool the audiences

I fully agree. There is no story, no message. no entertainment, absolutely nothing. The so called story shown in the movie is like an every day in normal Indian's life. There is no novelty in that. IT deserves to be Most Bakwas film of the centure
I hav seen and appreciated a lot of art movies. This is not a good movie.... There is no clear message... A viewer can't take out much from the movie.... I have seen much better movies by B.Viscom students over the years.... A huge let down.... Shows 4 different lifestyles... tats abt it... Its not well paced.... Can't believe tat i m saying this abt an Amir Khan movie, but its true :(
Mumbai is the real protagonist of the movie, whose story is told through the experiences of an artist, a migrant from UP, an NRI on a sabbatical and a suicidee who tells her story through videos shot by her. It is an interesting concept, totally different from the predictable potboilers produced in Bollywood. Prateik, Monica and Kriti were excellent and Aamir, for once, did not outshine his fellow actors. The film has lovely visuals and moments of sheer brilliance. Unfortunately, the narrative is jerky and certain scenes and characters felt out of place. The film however has more pluses than minuses. Kiran shows potential and I am eagerly looking forward to her next film.
Raja, you could have been a bit more magnanimous and given the movie a 3 star rating. It is probably the best Hindi movie I have seen after Udaan.
This is my 1st bundled movie, which is very boring & meaningless, wasting of time. Very bad thing is its under Amir's production. But why he may have thought to release such foolish script movie. Never expected such movie by amir.
Next time, he must have think deeply before release ow he could lose his impression in public view.

Next time, you must think deeply before putting your comments and clunky sentences out for public viewing.
