reservation should be for poor people
by june on Aug 12, 2011 09:31 PM  | Hide replies

Reservation should be only for poor people. When India got independence it was okay to encourage the working class to study and focus on polishing their intelligence. BUt enough is enough! India has become very backward because of reservation for dumb, unintelligent and lazy backward class which seems to know how to make money by dubious means as that part of brain is pretty developed.. Reservation should be for 'POOR and poor only', for 'children raised by single mothers' and 'orphans' who don't get a fair chance. We have had reservation for 3 generations and see what it has done to India. Its still backward in public welfare, female welfare, child education and health and there is absolutely no infrastructure, research and safety especially in northern part of India where bullies thrive. We have a long really long way to go. All advanced countries encourage smart and intelligent people and depending on everybody's capacity a person chooses his field..what's wrong in that? You work hard you do well..you cant be lazy and beg people for free stuff.

Reservation is must for the upliftment of the poor and those who were deprived in the society for years. This is an eefective way of bringing backword section of the society into the mainstream.

However, the policy maker must review this policy and must ensure that beneficieries must be poorest among the poors. Those who have occupied top positions in the Govt jobs like IAS, IPS, IFS and allied services or simply those who are class 1 or 2 officer position by means of of this reservation, their children hould not get the benefit of reservation. Because they are now at par with the General category students. Otherwise, children of these uplifted people will not work hard as they can achive top jobs by virtue of reservation.

I know a DIG in police, who belongs to ST. His son is getting all benefits of reservation and his cook who belongs to upper caste and hardly earns 3,000 a month. He finds it impossible to send his son to any tuition or coaching for IITJEE and purchase required books. His son deserves to be given reservation for higher studies but he does not get.

Likewise, son of a sweeper who works in my office doesnot get the facility for

May god give wisdom to grow and overcome brahminism obstacles
by jackol on Aug 12, 2011 08:51 PM  | Hide replies

Thanks to Gandhi/Raja Ram. Atleast because of him education has become open to all otherwise the lower caste students would never have got the chance stepping into the school. If properly motiviated there would have been many learned/Proffesional people like Ambedkar . All throughout the history this people have looted the kings and governments with all their tricks and tactics.Oppressed the lower caste people by wooing the rich and strong . Even now when govt trying to bring up the downtrodden this people want a pie of that. They never want lower caste people to come up and will always be obstacle in the growth of lower caste . I pray that God give wisdom to lower caste to grow and overcome the obstacles
Look at the kind of treasures in the temples

Abdul Kalam (my fav political figure) who belonged to fisherman lower community was encouraged by TAMIL BRAHMINS:IYERS all his life. Read his 'autobiography' to know the exact truth. Brahmins are not the cause of your problems, Kshatriyas and buisness class vaishiayas are your problems! Of course considering you studied by reservation where you have the privilege of being less smart..you will never ever learn to do your research before stuttering in a public forum. Your ancestors have suffered and it is sad but your dad and you have had more than your share without any hard work and intelligence. Brahmins at least tamil brahmins are really intelligent and you cannot blame them for them. In America, the most successful people are Jews, southindian Iyers and Chinese and they make it to best colleges, this is the reason they are successful. India has become more backward due to sponsoring education for less smart and lazy people.

Reservation is like a charity. That is correct. It should be abolished. No need in India. 100% merit is sought.

Typcial Right wing media against Reservation
by Ahamed on Aug 12, 2011 06:17 PM  | Hide replies

Reservation is for empowerment of social disabled communities rather than job opportunities. In USA,Brazil,South Africa,
Govt and Universities reserve opportunities for social disabled communties through affirmative program. Here few
communities denied education for centuries.

Your Cinematic Quotient is low, where you judged cinema from Cinematic Theme rather treatment of cinema. If you can't
agree with story, then you find a cinema bad."The Birth of Nation" is pro-Racist cinema,But considered as greatest cinema
in the world by all critics.

@ Pat thakur

and how the merit is made??

very simple, the higher caste copy checker gives maximum marks to other higher caste candidate than a lower caste candidate..

I would recommend checking of exam copies by SC/ST checkers and the higher caste candidates will find hard to get 33% marks to pass the exams..

so my dear friend all the babytalks about 'merits' is about fooling the social system by making backdoors via permeable education stystem..

In my openion a SC/ST candidate scoring 60% is as brilliant as another higher caste candidate scoring 95% (with checkers blessings)..

People who doesn't understand the complex social issues in India - esp. caste system talk without sense. There are villages in India where still two tumbler system is being followed [in tea shop, so-called upper caste will drink in one glass and dalits and MBCs on another]. The dalit kids will not be allowed same good school. Here is Mr. Thakur, who certainly must be from affuluent class, speaks about it! Geez!!!

Agreed!! and how is the reservation helping those villagers? We have to address the root cause not the symptoms... I strongly believe reservation just based on caste has outlived.. Only people that are benfitting from it are affluent people from the OBC. These people you mentioned never even get to see it. Coming to checkers of the paper I dont think they allocate registration numbers based on the caste and that should be the only thing on the paper. how would they identify that this is OBC answer sheet.... you got to be kidding... stop looking for conspiracies and get to work...
Most of the entrance test are computerised.. oh ya those are programmed by upper caste people to reduce the numbers hahaha... I am not against the reservations per say it should be extended to only those people who deserve it... based on income or some other creteria... not caste sorry...

@ Shankar Telasang

I am slightly confused if you think before writing or after writing.. or don't think at all..

have you ever been involved in exam sheets evaluation process??? do you have any idea about schools/colleges marking/grading systems ??? have you ever questio ned why there is no SC/ST checker/evaluator involved in Optical/generic grading sheets??

the reality is even darker than the myth.. the whole education system itself is infected due to unequal representations from each community of the society..

Yes Saif's National award is due to politics. But Aarakshan performance is superb(on par with Omkara).

Problem is Reviewer's religious and supremacist chavuism in judging a movie leads to disregard saif's role.

A brief history..
by YJ on Aug 12, 2011 06:05 PM  | Hide replies

after reading the following messages I am confirmed all the poster here belong to an age group of 20-35 and with an education Mcom to MTech..

But.. But none of these posters are aware of the Indian history ... I'm not talking about the modern or medival history but the the time of around 2000 BC when some tribes from east punjab entered India and were later named themselves as Aryans.. they ruled the aborigins and made caste systems and the locals/aborigins were made Sudras (SC/ST) and sachut's (Backwards)..

I just tried to make people understand this land of India doesn't belong to higher castes (Brahmin, Vaishya. Khatriyas) et all..

and after thousands years of social degradation finally there was a period near 1947 when muslims were demanding for the separate land and succeeded making a 'Pakistan', Dr Ambedkar succumbed to Gandhi's tactics and withdrew his demand for the separate Dalit state 'Achutistan' in leu of continued Reservations..

I am sure most of the people will have to do lot of research to prove me wrong.. (probably impossible).

so, the whole point of story is that the social discrimination prevailing in society from thousands of years can not be compensated with only reservation until the other sections of the society understand the fact that these downtrodden communities are getting very less than what they have lost in many centuries and it is their legal and humanitarian right to have the equal representation now.

Now thes day only wealthy backword or sc st getting benifit of this no poor sc / st/ obc / high cast getiign betting benifit. beter dividing society as indian leader playing game like laloo, mayabati, pls stop, we need to sit same place, play at same place, eat same place. pls dont allow to ply politics to currupt political leader. We all are same and who ever is poor will take benifit to grow.

Films are meant for viewing. Right from the beginning so-called politicians had asked for the ban of the film- and they did it exactly- if political party can function -why not a film- film is screened in theatres- a theater is not a govt house ( property) that - govt should ban any film! There should be some respect for film screening in this country- no state should feel ban is in their hand. And then film, TV, news paper, food, gas, diesel are daily necessity of public- why should then a State should claim a ban? UP, Punjab and Andhra please wake up- give people their needs of daily- otherwise why be Chief Minister???????
