nonsense garbage movie..
by varun johar on Aug 13, 2011 04:10 PM  | Hide replies

most of the posters here seem to be metro multiplex boys who have no idea of social system and they are advocating a nonsense factless movie..

I would suggest these guys to spend a day in rural india to understand the exact position of downtrodden communities..

and all these talks about 'merits' is bullshit, the lower caste candidates are never given good marks by a higher caste exam copy checker.. why you dont make a provision to get the same copy checked again by a SC/St checkers.. probably the higher caste candidates will start failing.. and the so called 'merits' will be visible in true reality.

The whole education system is highly commercialized and catering upper castes.. all the education and business houses are owned by higher castes and no one ever questions about their policies and the disproportionate incomes of these people??

@Varun - I like the para you have written above but I think, for the Future of India the reservation must be done purely on the basis of income and we should not divide and push the youth in casticism.

Talks/discussion like this will only divide sc/st with remaining casts.

We should more concentrate over who deserves the seats/positions rather than just having cast reservation. I think it started way back by congress for few years but than to get votes Politicians started banking on reservation.

Reservations should be done on the basis of income. People who can't afford should get reservation and also fee cut. That will atleast not divide our India on Caste.

Caste has a direct casual correlation with Income - first chapter in Indian Social Science.

Therefore it should be Caste and Income, not Income only.

whatever dear.. I don't remember Indian Social Science chapters.. I am talking about the real problem which is not mentioned in Social science book i think.

But one major thing that needs to be considered in reservation is INCOME !!

@ Varun

You raised some valid issues faced in present indian society..

certainly it is a real concern that the Education is transformed into Business entity due to corrupt business houses and current politicians (who indirectly own the business houses and vice versa)..

Reservation is more killer than corruption & Corruption thanK
by pravin sarode on Aug 13, 2011 03:26 PM

there are million example when poor families of upper caste bramhins wonder from pillar to post as 100 percent reservation in states like TN, where should poor upper cast people go and take education? i think all reservation must be purely on the basis of income and if any body is found giving false information of income then his reservation must be cancelled back dated?

and who are coaching mafias?? what are paid seats??? how these mafias are funded?? who owns & nourishes them??

there is a complete nexus of politicians and business bouses who had made education a saleable commodity..

capitalism is the biggest parasite in Indian society now.

Freeloaders united!
by Gururaj Narayan on Aug 13, 2011 12:18 PM

The uproar about some dialogs in the movie shows how deep rooted is the culture of free loading in our country. It seems that the menace of reservation will not leave this country for next five hundred or thousand years. After a couple of generations, it will become a religion. When VP Singh announced implementation of Mandal Report, Nani Palkhiwala said, "VP Singh might die a peaceful person for having implemented the report. But, he has made sure that the country will not live in peace for the next thousand years." How prophetic are these words! Reservationists do not believe in freedom of speech and opinion guaranteed by the constitution of India. The State Governments are falling backwards to oblige the bigots by banning the film. On TV I saw a local political thug thundering "this film talks of importance of merit over reservation. this is offensive to the backward classes and other beneficiaries of reservation". The reservation policy has thus created another class of privileged persons in the country living off the other taxpayers' money.

To catch attention and get box office success, a better idea
by piri on Aug 13, 2011 11:38 AM

would be to make a film on open defecation in India !

Understood from this article that the director of 'Aarak..." is one Mr. Prakash Jha. Also understood that Mr.Prakash Jha managed a PR coup for his mediocre film by naming it 'Aarak...'.

But, if attracting widespread condemnation and threats and the resultant public attention is the purpose, there really can be no better method than to make a true-to-life film on open defecation in India !!

Between 60 and 65 % of Indians shit in the open for want of access to proper toilets. If a film on this is made without fear of retribution, then that movie will invite attention from not only the 'celebrities', politicians, media houses, etc, but also from most middle class Indian commoners too ! For, the middle class Indians live in a make beleive world that is supposed to mean that India is developing furiously and on its way to shortly becoming a superpower !!
