Surya doesnt do always masala films so you can expect something different from him. But Dr. Vijay and Ajith still need to get acting lessons soon.

to all sane moviegoers and critics, Singam as expected, has taken fantastic opening not jut in TN, but also in Mumbai and Pune. Go and check sify for more detail. And SURA is now officially the biggest flop of the year (yh, it beat Asal, what an achievement)
the problem is, if u do not hype it, i would say, it is good time pass. manja velu is not a over-hyped movie, so we would say, that is ok time pass. but if u say this is mother of all masala and terrific, surya the next best thing to happen etc...then this is junk movie....because, if we rate this as terrific, we will end up watching yet another series of junkest movies, after singam, it will be puli, karadi, naai, panni, yaanai etc... hero will be from aatyampatti, arasampatti, kovilpatti and coming to chennai...still kalanithi, udayanithi, alagiri will be producers...
The positive reviews are pouring all around for a masala movie like this. Go and see Orkut, they are praising not only Surya but the screenplay, Anushka, Prakashraj. Only the music and Vivek are criticised. Seems like a good entertainer. ALL MASALA FILMS ARE NOT BAD. Masala films can be made in a way thats liked by many. Seems like Singam has hit the jackpot.

Singam is not a flop. You're a flop (ie. SURA). I mean, why else would they ask Vijay to pay back the losses?
Come on Surya you need to improve lot in acting. I remember Prithviraj dialouge in Vellithirai acting is not reacting its behaving. In this film Surya and Prakashraj reacted well. Singam - Just another time waster.

i agree surya prakash.Prithviraj, being a malayalee, delivering dialogs in fluent tamil and emotions in flawless manner is what u call as acting. This Trishna keeps on repeating the same crap done by surya in VA, KK etc as acting. Fed up with such type of idiots.

And also, you dont know what acting is too. If what Surya did in Kaakha Kaakha is not acting, then god knows what YOU call acting.

if you think that Pritviraj's tamil is pure Tamil, then you clearly dont know what tamil sounds like. Anyone, even a 2 yr old kid, can tell that Pritviraj has an obvious Malayalam accent when he speaks. Well this clearly shows your mentality, Sura.

no, its a time-pass movie. One that you go and watch for fun. Although i would prefer if he does more Vaaranam Aayiram/Pithamagan/Kaakha Kaakha type films, i occasionally enjoy his masala films once in a while, like Vel, Ayan and now Singam..

I guess you have not even watched it and just commenting based on the type of movie that it is. If you really went and watched it, then hope you agree that you are also 'one among those idiots'. And if you didnt go and watch it, then you have no right commenting on why others went and watched it. So, its a CHECK MATE!

this 'useless type' of movie seemed to have got positive reviews all around, and as well as that, it is getting good word-of-mouth. Sure, this film may not appeal to everyone, but its meant to be a commercial masala film, and i think Singam did full justice to the genre
